On vacation in Hilton Head this week. Took the dog for a walk early this morning. First bird I saw was a cardinal. Off to play 18.

Go Cardinals!!!!!

Have the mug chilling in the freezer. The beer chilling in the fridge. Meat marinating in the fridge. When I get home from work it is BBQ time and then MNF to watch the Big Red.

Same here. A lot of long faces. Took my niece to a sports bar yesterday to watch the Saints play. By half time the Rams fans lost interest in their game and were watching other games.

Are you ready to see a half-empty stadium for the MNF opener? It's going to be pretty terrible. It's going to look like Sun Devil Stadium in the preseason.

Yeah driving to work this morning was crazy. Can't beleive we got over 5" of rain in Chandler overnight.

I just hope enough fans can get there before kickoff, so the stadium doesn't look empty on national television.

Can any locals let me know what flooding/traffic issues will be encountered heading to stadium. My dad is using my tickets for this game and I would like to let him know of any closures/delays. Thanks

It's going to look empty. A ton-ton-ton of fans come out from the east side. Even with the late kickoff, there's going to be enough uncertainty, I think, that a lot of even motivated Cardinals fans are going to stay home rather than risk being stranded in Glendale.

It's not going to look good tonight. Thankfully, the game will be on late enough that it may not be too embarrassing to a large audience.

There will be nothing to be embarrassed about. A ton of local people have major flooding to their homes. I'm sure they will bring this up on the broadcast.

And that will read to a national audience as an excuse--at least to the audience that doesn't instinctively mute Chris Berman because he's terrible.

How much time would the announcers have to spend on talking about how inconvenient travel to the game is to outweigh 3+ hours of empty stadium images?

Is it going to help the Super Bowl marketing campaign to show the Valley over and over looking like a FEMA site? I hope that the folks as ESPN gathered plenty of B-roll over the weekend.

Arizona Ave in Chandler on my way into work. Not as bad as some places but still the craziest I've ever seen it since I moved to Chandler 10 years ago.

Welcome to Monday Night Football, Valley of the Suns style! In lieu of the record rains, flooding, road closures and power outages the Arizona Cardinals will be arriving at University of Phoenix Stadium for tonight's opener via Ark.

Are you ready for some football? A Monday night party! We got Bruce and Fitz and Peterson. We're gonna be flying! All the leaks are plugged and roof is tight. The Birdgang is gonna rock the nest tonight!
