Three episodes in, and this show is simply amazing. It's been a while since any new shows really got my attention, but this and AMC's The Killing are both excellent.

Really like the show but too many cliche's. Typical naive good guys and typical devious bad guys. Classic theater. The bad guys get away with horrendous evil for most of the show so that the audience has no problem with the good guys finally killing them in the end.

But Peter Dinklage is great and his character goes a long way to offset the cliches. And like others have said just watching Emilia Clarke is worth the hours. That the writers are doing a great job developing her character is a bonus. I was caught totally by surprise as she started to stand up to her brother using her new position as Kahleise or whatever its called.

Hehe, just you wait. George R.R. Martin is a good writer, and trust me, cliche doesn't enter into it. Juuuust wait.

But aren't the writers of the TV series, D.B. Weiss and David Benioff?

this series is good and the production values are insane, but it's just not reaching greatness yet. LOVE Dinklage and Emilia Clarke's characters though.

dude... that's like Chuck Norris level type ****!

btw, anyone who didn't stick it out through the first four episodes of Thrones (and i don't blame if you didn't) is gonna want to watch this when it hits DVD. The show has become flat out awesome.

LOL. That is what I thought.

By the way.....anybody who is not watching this show has no idea what they are missing. Also, last episodes ending was a down right shocker. I had no clue that was coming. I had never read the stories so I had no clue.

I was in shock.

I knew... which didn't take away from the moment. LOVED they went there and from what I saw with that character throughout, it stayed true to who he was. he's a bitch... he's got no honor and it was perfectly in line with his character. Right now i'm writing the story for the season finale of the show I'm working on and the thing that I LOVE writing stories is leading an audience one way and then cutting the legs out from under them... especially if it can be justified with what's been set up. if they just went straight with the pardon, that's what everyone's expecting and it doesn't really move the story forward whereas doing what they did completely spins the story in a different direction. really a brilliant piece of writing and one I can only hope to emulate with the show i'm working on.

I think the credit needs to go to the writer that actually wrote it...you know, George R.R. Martin, the author. You make it sound like the show writers came up with it. If I didn't know any better, I'd say you were one yourself ;)

stout, I know these are books which is why I gave credit to the writer, saying nowhere that it was the TV writing staff that was responsible for it.

I just love the fact that Stark really tried to hold true to his honor and it wasn't until they threatened his daughter that he caved. What came next I just wasn't expecting......at all. Should setup for some very interesting reaction from the other characters.

I figured, which is why I used a smilie. I just had to point that out, because you said 'they' when you referenced the writing. I was thinking, 'no, 'he'... :D

Hey, when's Necessary Roughness coming on? I'm going to check it out, even though I find that actress extremely annoying--all because of that incredibly annoying character she played on Rescue Me. Still, I'm sending good vibes for your show.

june 29th!

it's the perfect relationship show... women will love it because it's a female lead and therapy/feelings and guys will like it because there's football in it.

oh... and i didn't know how they were gonna top last weeks' penultimate episode... then they unleash hot naked women holding dragons... well done Thrones... well done indeed.

That was just awesome. Really awesome.

One of the best season ending episodes I've ever seen.

seriously... after the previous episode, my entire house was like "how the hell are they gonna top that ending?" then after the finale, we were all saying "they freaking topped last week's ending!"

that's REALLY impressive... I remember Breaking Bad season 3 had one of the most intense penultimate episodes of any show ever IMO and even though the finale was great, it just wasn't quite as good as what came before it... but this... this went above and beyond.

I mean, that was a freaking cliff-hanger if I ever saw one.

really love the structure of this story... everything started with the old guard and by the end of the season pretty much ALL of them have fallen by the wayside to make room for the next generation, which have all completely come into their own as incredible characters.

If you had told me that Robert, Ned and Drogo would ALL be dead by the end of season 1 half-way through the season, I'd say I wouldn't really be looking forward to season 2 all that much, but the arcs that all the other characters have gone on have been incredibly well done AND acted.

can't say enough about this show right now.

Amazing.... Glad I stuck it out after the first few episodes. The tension just kept growing.

Top 2 show for me this year. Probably #1. Justified is a close 2nd.

Just wow. If your ultimate geek fantasy was birthday suites and dragons the last scene was probably too much for you to handle. :D

Holy crap the season needs to be longer. They better have a longer season. This show rocks. Any idea when this returns? I didn't see anything.

LoL I wondered what was going on with this show. My parents have been watching it and I get little recaps every week because they're so excited about whats happening. My dad called me after and was like; There was this gorgeous blonde who walked in the fire and came out naked holding all these dragons, it was amazing!

I'm thinking, hmmm I wonder if my parents are finally losing it.

Good to know that actually happenend!
