not just a matter of belief...I do not know how to do them.. It has been explained to me a time or two in the past but it just does not stick. I really suck at computers...I reserve my willfully rude for one on one events...too many good people in groups.

Then, you know, wait a few days...or hours...before you post. Or put a post-it note next to your computer with instructions on how to do spoilers. By just saying screw it, I'm going to do it anyway, you ARE being willfully rude...although I do appreciate your friendly tone here.

Hey oaken an easy way to figure it out is to quote a post where someone has already used them. You can just copy and paste the tags for your own post. Thought that might help.

Yeah, there was a lot I liked in the episode, and a lot I didn't. That fart joke was embarrassing.

The story is still good, the action is still good, but the dialogue, now that they are totally out of the source material, is noticeably not as engaging as it used to be.

Agree completely. Martin is a great storyteller, but underestimated his skill with character conversations. The Eunuch is now a simplistic, cliched, plot coupon. The Imp's lines are cringe-worthy bad attempts to be clever. Little Finger and Bronn seem to have been written out. The Small Council scene was straight out of every High School lunchroom since the beginning of time.

All of this seems to be the exact opposite of their character personality. Varys can't turn someone into a double-agent, and resorts to giving bribes? Tyrian forgot how to control/engage a conversation? Baelish and Bronn are suddenly content and are no longer ambitious enough to interject themselves? Incest twins didn't expect a Cool Kids Table response to an intrusion? C'mon.

I would be happy if they just did flashback scenes with Ivar the Boneless and Antonius Block, until GRR can catch up.

Oh yeah... Bronn! What the hell happened to him? I completely forgot he even existed. And Littlefinger's absence in the show is criminal right now.

Hmm, I disagree with almost everything here.

You actually think their portrayal of Varys now isn't what he was before? This is ABSOLUTELY how Varys has always been, we've just never seen his "process" on screen. Varys giving out bribes is what he's always done--outright killing people isn't his style, and never has been.

Tyrian having trouble talking to Grey Worm and Missandei is also easy to explain away. He was always clever, but it was always in context--usually with people that could understand his little one-liners, but those two barely speak his language and don't have a lot of personality--they are definitely people that he can't exploit and it's a new thing for him.

Littlefinger is in the next episode, not sure about Bronn. His IMDB credits only go up to Mother's Mercy from last season.

Cercei and Jaime, especially with Frankenmountain expect to be respected in their arrogance, but nobody is buying it anymore. Just another way to show that the religious nutjobs are pretty much ruining the Lannister reputation. Kevan was never that enamored with the twins anyway, so him walking out in disrespect isn't exactly out of character.

Yea, Bronn. Where did he go? Wasn't he on the boat home from Dorn? I don't even think we saw him when they boated in in the first episode.

Hmmm, guess I just care so little about the Tall Parakeet and King Butters storyline I never thought of that as a debate defense.

the small council scene I saw as an example of loss of power. When Tywin was alive nobody would have dared to treat those two that way.

anyone else think the high sparrow is going to convert the king?

A little different when there's a 450 lbs purple people eater standing at the table.

No, you just made his point stronger. The 450 lb purple people eater was there, and those two STILL got dissed.

Seems like the Purple Mountain's Majesty is on a bit of a leash. He always looks for some approval unless someone attacks Cersei. I kind of wondered myself what is keeping her from unleashing him at times. They must have a longer term plan.

The Small council scene showed how messed up and dysfunctional the government in KL is right now. If she unleashes the undead Mountain she'd have open war against the Tyrell's, maybe parts of the Lannisters, as well as everybody else they already have as enemies. It would be suicide for her and KL, considering the Tyrell's were the ones bringing money and food when it was needed a number of seasons ago. Not to mention she still has her trial with the Faith to look forward to.

They showed him in the trailer for this season, so I'm guessing he'll show up soon.

I agree. As you stated she would have too many fronts to fight right now. The religious zealots, the people etc. I think she is feeling the itch though. I hope they do at some point unleash Purple Mountain's Majesty. Seeing another trial by combat? Meh.

Oh but if it's the trial by combat that's been hyped beyond hype, I'd be ecstatic.

The flashback scene to Ned Stark at the TOJ was interesting. Since it was clear that Ned fibbed about what exactly happened against the Targaryan swordsman, what else had he been untruthful about? Jon Snow not being his son? Could be that R+L=J is starting to become a true-to-life theory.

The Bran flashbacks are becoming one of the more fascinating storylines in the show.

Did he really fib? (it's thursday and I just saw the episode last night, not sure if these are needed, but doing them anyways to not hurt feelings.)

maybe I'm getting book and show confused, but he said Arthur Dayne was the the greatest swordsman he'd ever seen, and he would have killed him had it not been for Howland Reed. It was exactly what happened in the flashback. Bran was surprised/shocked sure, but that's because he always held his father up to be the most honorable man he knew. BTW, the man that nearly killed Ned was a King's Guard, Arthur Dayne, The Sword of the Morning, the best swordman of his time, Rhaegar's closest friend and he wasn't at the battle that killed the Prince and heir. It's safe to say he was protecting something far more important ;)

It's about time Khalessi did something!

Hell of an end to the episode. Season's starting to heat up (no pun intended).

Just one scene of the Tormund and Brienne sword fight during their first relationship argument, and the angry make-up sex after, please.

Very excited about...

The White Walkers' return next week. I said before that I was becoming very intrigued by Bran's visions into the past. Now, we get to see why the Raven had been warning Bran not to stay in the past for too long.

Loved this episode. Stories are starting to come together (Theon back at Pyke, Danarys with her crew, Sansa with Snow, etc), which means the plot will move along a bit faster.

Bo-ring and uber predictable, except for the Khaleesi bit--and ONLY her bit, not the associated bits. I did NOT see that coming.

See, the problem is, this kind of episode would make for a decent 1st or 2nd episode of the season, but when next to NOTHING has happened, really, and you're heading into the middle of the season...yeah, it's a bit of a problem. Just plodding along at this point.
