According to the article on the Revenge of the Birds site from June last year, Long returned kicks and punts for Mississippi State, and played on ST coverage. No indication of how successfully.

Can he be put on the PUP list ?
I'm not so sure Shane. There is/was no guarantee he could sustain the numbers, but in four kick off returns he brought two back past the 30 and two past the 40. I don't see any other back-ups having that kind of impact on a game.

A couple of thoughts -
1. While Wiz obviously has access to better info than we get, he's not an MD, and "knees are knees."
2. I confess to wondering whether the injury is truly legitimate or whether it's being used as a pretext for a little bit of roster-manipulation - especially since we didn't hear anything about the injury until 4 or 5 days after it was said to have happened.
