Huge fan of Geno Smith. Has shown to be highly accurate in college, so this stat from his pro day doesn't surprise me. I think at 7 most people would call him a reach. Since we brought in Stanton I can't picture us spending a first round on a QB. (Sadly, I think Smith would bring the excitement this team needs)

Their QB situation is as bad if not worse than ours, prob weighing their options.. Could anyone see Geno going at 2? Everything I've heard said mid 1st, but IDK, I'm not a scout. Originally they were saying top 5.

Passes thrown behind the LOS wouldnt count towards his passing stats....in regards to checkdown charley you have never seen his deep ball. He just never had to throw deep in the offense WVU ran. Not his fault if you had the wes welker of college football you would check down and throw bubble screens too. He has touch more than any QB the cards have seen since KW.

This guy scares me more than any other at 7. If we took him in the second round I'm okay with that, but the thought of him being a bust at seven when guys like Jarvis Jones, Eric Fisher and Warmack are there that are sure things makes me really nervous. If we took Geno and he became a franchise QB then all would be great, but if he flops then we are set back another five years because we most likely would not draft a QB next year.

Linemen are typically safer, sure, but I don't have a great feeling about Eric Fisher. His rise from obscurity to suddenly consideration as a top ten pick kind of scares me. I feel that his peak is Joe Staley (which don't get me wrong, I'd be fine with), but small school guys that kill it in workouts aren't very safe to me.

Jarvis Jones still brings some medical concerns, and "can't miss" pass rushers seem to be a 50/50 proposition. The transition to OLB can turn out to be way too much for some. Is this guy Von Miller? Or is he Vernon Gholston?

I had this argument in another thread - but drafting a QB in the second round likely sets the franchise back two to three years if he busts as well. Teams very rarely take the risk on a new guy in the first one to two years later. I really trust Geno Smith, and I take him if he's available here - because there's nothing to say that the "great quarterback class" of next year doesn't see an awful regression like a lot of QBs did this year. And that's if we tank a bunch to end up with one of the top three picks... it's just too unpredictable.

Jarvis Jones' health issues dont scare you more? and There is absolutely zero chance Geno makes it past 15 never mind 2nd round.

I have put the stats out there on his downfield passing, on his TD's greater than 20 yards, etc.

I cant help if you people still claim ignorance. We get it you dont like him, but quit making up crap about him.

This would kill his career before it gets started. Thej there will be no way to know if he could have been any good. I hope if he goes early its to Jax, at least there he wont have to deal with that Clusterf%^k of a front office and coaching staff.

Personally I think McShay is a clown, but he is on TV and I am not, so what do I know.

The more athletic the player, the less stock I put into their workouts. Smith and Austin are great athletes so they should put on a show in workouts. Their film is what determines their value most to me.
