VF, just answer one simple question; then perhaps we can cease this endless diatribe about Wonderlic.

What, in your opinion, is the reason that the NFL continues to use the Wonderlic as an assessment tool? Obviously the NFL believes that the test provides some value in assessing the merits of potential players. What is it's value? Why do they use the test?

Given you inability to spell "Canadian" in your first paragraph, I don't doubt that whatever degree you may have came from MacDonald's U.. :D

What the hell are you guys doing, applying for a grant or something? Nobody cares where you went to school unless you're going to start talking sports-related smack.

Thank you. Someone needed to be brave enough to say it. Either this thread needs to go back to being an apologia for Levar Fisher, or be closed by a moderator.

 Yeah, I probably am. I should have known better than to log onto a public message board and try to steer a post about Hayes back to football and away from academic resumes.

Plus, he's crazy. And from Canada.

Don't mind the reference to "Crazy" it's a handle that refers to a group of Canadian Downhill skiers who dominated the European slopes in the 1970s... the "Crazy Canucks"... but, I'm getting a bit tired of your references to my country. Let it go! There's no humour in it...

Relax, man. What have I said that's negative--even remotely so? I like Canada. Not sure how I might have done it, but I'm sorry if I offended you.

How did they dominate the 72 ? or 76 Innsbruck games? Or 80 in Lake Placid?

I didn't want to get into degrees or anything but I took Human Resource Management and from what I've read, how well you do on the Wonderlic does often correlate with how you do on the job. They do keep statistics Vikesfan and I don't think they use the tests just for the hell of it.

For my money using the Wonderlic to evaluate prospects is like using this message board to evaluate future general manageres.

a rare typo...

Hey, newby... If you're going to spend your time corrrecting spelling on this site, you're going to be awfully busy. And, I hope you'll make certain that the intro to your future comments after verifying the source will read, when required: "Can't anyone in the U.S. spell... it's xxxx, not xxxx. (Unless of course you've got a particular problem with us?)

You know, I don't think anyone has a problem with Canada nor Canadians, but people will make light-hearted cracks simply because you call yourself a Canuck in your handle. I think you need to lighten up a bit, nobody is out to slander (or libel, as the case may be) Canada.

If I called you a "Canucklehead," would you be offended? You shouldn't, it would just be in good fun, just like if you called me a "American war-mongering, capitalist pig." We'd all laugh until our bellies hurt.

Good times; good times.

My point is simply that one can call me anything... no harm done. But, when the dig is at the expense of my homeland, I take exception.

And, if anyone called you (and it certainly wouldn't be me) an "American war-mongering, capitalist pig."... I'd take exception to that too. Perhaps I shouldn't... but to me that's crossing the line.

Getting back to Gerald Hayes, his "season" stats on NFL.com are different from those you get if you add individual game totals, also from NFL.com. Anyone know what his "real" numbers were for last season and why there is a difference?

Yeah. NFL.com's stats feature kind of... Sucks. This site from Stats, Inc. and ESPN.com might give some better info.
