I want to take this opportunity to remind some of you all to get yourself healthy and ready to go. Football is fun and family to some, but I had to learn a valuable lesson on 1/16/16.

Long story short... i was watching the game and fell out on the floor when Larry caught that 75 yard pass. Needless to say my life and view of football has not been the same since. I will not bore you all with all the details except to say get yourself healthy and take care of your #1 fan. Yourself. Otherwise you won't be able to enjoy this superbowl run we are about to undertake this year.

Right back at you Clif!

Good to hear from you!

A little tip from a fellow fan, yoga is a fountain of youth and health.

Be good, and go Cardinals!

Thanks. I needed that advice after the pass play also. Family thought about taking me to the ER for chest pains. Have to learn to relax.

Glad you're okay. Always good to remind ourselves of how fragile things can be. Keep on keeping on, Clif.

I really believe that everything happens for a reason. I have been given a second chance at life. I am not going to waste it. I might be making this incident out to be bigger than it was, but I don't care. It was enough to remind me that I was not where I wanted to be and it was my fault. I had no one else to really blame. Don't make excuses. Your family will love you no matter what, but no one can love you more than you love yourself. It sounds callous and self absorbed until you actually think it through.

Thank you for all the well wishes. It is funny that this would be one of the places I would air my "dirty laundry". None of you really know me, nor do I really know any of you and yet, Lord willing this August will make 12 years of posting on this board. Crazy. I love it. I love all of you. Yes I said it. Why? Because you all are humans first, but Cardinals fans more importantly!!!!!

So I had been diagnosed with diabetes and high blood pressure awhile back. I am a passionate cards fan ( as many of you all are otherwise you wouldn't be here) so I was watching the game and trying to stay calm. Obviously I was pissed because the team was playing like crap most of that game. I had told myself I was not going to get worked up about the game (yeah right)

As the game is going on I could feel myself getting angrier and angrier but I wasn't yelling or saying anything because my wife of 14 years used to watch with me but I've broken **** over the years while watching games (an old coffee table literally 13 years ago that was already broken I just finished the job in the middle of our living room) and she never let me forget it.

As we get to the end of the game and Larry catches that pass I got up and started howling at the top of my lungs. As I'm doing this I'm walking towards my kitchen. I can feel my pressure rising in an instant and BOOM! My body goes limp. I hit the floor. All 287 pounds of me come crashing to the floor. Never felt so physically helpless in my life.

As I am lying on the floor dazed but conscious I look up and see my wife looking at me from the couch. She asks me "what are you doing on the floor?" I said to myself: "what ARE you doing on the floor???" I got up, sat on the couch for five minutes in silence. Nervous but calm. I went to bed that night not being exactly sure what happened but strangely calm. I figured it was just that my blood rushed to my head so fast that I got lightheaded and fainted.

Either way, it was more than enough for me. I got my butt back in the gym and have been working out ever since. I am down 20 lbs since then with more to go.

The key here is that I am not on a diet. I am on a lifestyle change. The old me "died" on 1/16/16. I will no longer except that version of me because that version was a train wreck that I was allowing to consume me.

Anyways I've summed up that incident and so much more has happened to me since then, but that is the gist of it. I am not going to let this game consume me as it has in the past. I have too much living to do and too many people to live for.

If you really want an insight into my life feel free to ask. I am a relatively open book.

Type 2 diabetic also for about 8 years now. Know the struggle. Had to do the entire lifestyle change with the meds, diets, and exercise. Lost 30 pounds but still trying to lose more. During that game I also had an episode of chest pains after Larry's catch. Had to lie down on the couch to relax. Family was real worried.
