Greinke is good just not 200 mill good. Not a 1 ace IMO. 2 or a 3.

Well, right now he is playing like a 4 or a 5, but his ace chops the last several years are unquestionable.

I gave up on Baseball during the PED years. Just got back on board last year. All I have seen of him is this year. De La Rosa right now looks much better.

Ok Goldy is NOT back, something is up with that dude, and Greinke smh, looks like he's going to be a 5+ ERA pitcher all season. I mean crap man can't you at least give me an ERA of sub 4?

I'm not that down on Greinke after this one. It's not what we need from him, but in his defense, the ump was screwing him royally for the first 3 innings. The frustration was clearly getting to him as pitch after pitch (CLEARLY on the inside corner according to foxtrack) were called balls. Then he started trying to work the outside of the plate, and dude was calling those balls too! That's when Greinke really started to fall apart.

Regardless he needs to be better, but this ump was a freaking joke.

Why is this team so lost at home? They look like a completely different club on the road.

This is such an up and down team. Not consistent at all. Play well for 5 straight games then tank at home again. Goldy needs to get his head out of his you know what or we need to find someone that can hit in his place. What is up with him????

I still believe they can pull it together and get more consistent.

I hope so.. I think its time to move Goldy down in the order for a while. He's leaving too many ducks on the pond.

This is just the team we are

I have to reject that notion. There's no reason this team shouldn't be able to win games at home. The roster is way too talented. It's a complex at this point. Everyone is in their own heads. It's like the whole team needs to go on a field trip or something. lol That always works in the movies, they need a good musical montage of team building. With Kenny Loggins music playing in the background.

God I hope Shelby can pitch well tonight. I'm already sick of hearing/thinking about what a terrible trade that was.

Winning literally cures everything. It's a miracle drug. Lets get a Gem from Shelby tonight, a couple of hits for Goldy and all will be right in the world.

I think I'll go to the game.

Agree with this... If Goldy and Greinke were even remotely close to their historical averages, we'd be in first place.
Anyway, Shelby pitches tonight and we of course know what a disaster he's been, both on the road AND at home... and today is Friday the 13th... This could be extra specially horrific or, the Friday the 13th jynx could work in our favor and turn him around... maybe? Sorta? #itsatretch

Because it very relevant to this thread as well as the one I previously posted to, I am going to copy and paste this here.

There is one major reason for not comparing Greinke's stats with the D-backs vs. those with the Dodgers.

Chase Field is a hitter's park (as is Coor's Field). Dodger Stadium is a pitcher's park.

With fresh, talented pitching, look at our winning record on the road vs. our losing record at home.

It is a false hope to expect the ace starting pitching of the D-backs to have stats as good as an equally talented starting pitcher of the Dodgers.

I suggest that we, as fans, allow Grienke time to settle into the situation, do well on the road and work on using his baseball intelligence to improve at home.

There is only one Randy Johnson who, at 6'10", was absolutely unique. Whomever we would have given the #1 spot to this season (especially after the loss of Pollock) would have had a struggle.

As some people have said, losing AJ was more of a loss offensively and defensively than we expected.

Well, if that's the case, then Segura and Castillo would also be closer to their historical averages
