I agree. I was surprised, that after 3 of our guys getting hit , we didn't retaliate. I hope we do tommorrow night. Also, why did Melvin bring in the new pitcher when he had Meddars. I would think you would have waited until we were leading by many or losing by many before bringing him in.

Yeah, well that's good, Cojack really got it tonight from them. Once again, the Giants piss me off. Hopefully we can kill them tommorow. Hopefully Cruz can have another good day, and maybe, just maybe we can have a starter go past 5 innings.

AAwesome, the new Baby Backs playing great and Juan Cruz having another good start. I'm telling you guys he deserves his spot in the rotation this year. Even though he usually doesen't pitch too many innings he has been good.

So what's the deal with Jackson? Just a little sore so he's taking a break?

And they finally found Tracy's position...shortstop. Some nice plays today when he was in that area.

Wow, this was a pleasent surprise. I was out at Olive Garden, and just got home and turned on the game. 5-1 D'backs! And how about Juan Cruz, not only has he apprently dominated the Giants batters (judging by the score) but he's now into the top of the 8th inning..wow. Good job Juan!

Speaking of young Dbacks, Alberto Callapso just got his first MLB hit! Are the announcers pronouncing his name correctly? I haven't heard it aloud yet, I've been reading it with a more gringo pronunciation, but I guess the 2 L's being pronounced as a Y is correct.

No matter, we won! While the D'backs had a great night, Juan Cruz had a great night, the fact that he only had one run in 8-ish innings pitched is great.

Didn't they say he just got a save 2 days ago vs. the Astros? His fastball was good today so maybe not.

His performance has slipped since he originally joined the D'backs.

This 9th inning non-save situation was probably to bolster his confidence.

Hmmm, I was wondering if I would find something to compliment Melvin about before the end of the season.

They're trying to break his little mini-slump, so putting him in during a 5-1 game is not a bad idea.

Well I hope it worked, he did pitch good there. He might have walked Bonds but then he settled in nicely.

I thought we should have pinch hit for Cruz with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 5th. I was wrong. Great game for Juan.

Gambo just said that Enrique's spot in the rotation is locked and it's between Juan Cruz and Claudio Vargas for the last spot. After last nights performance, I would go with Cruz but they are both terribly inconsistent. IMO, Cruz gives us a better 5th starter but I have a feeling that Vargas' attitude will go in the dumps if he gets demoted to the pen. Livan starts Friday and Webb Saturday

I'd take Cruz over Vargas. Even though he doesen't pitch as many innings he has been better than anyone else except Webb in the rotation in ERA and K's and is a good 5th starter. Vargas would be good in the bullpen and we need more pitchers there.
