Gil Brandt: Cardinals get criticized a lot but are one of the best drafting teams."

-Said league avg for draft picks starting is 23% Cards at 36%

-All three loved the Massie pick and were talking how the Cardinals are putting a nice draft together.

-Kirwan called Massie an absolute steal and said its the right place for him to go.

-Ryan said he could start right away and has the chance to be very, very good.

You won't hear much about the Cardinals draft, but to me it's very under the radar and they have some of the better selections of any team IMO. I love this draft.

Nice pub... And Very good to hear.. MAssie is my favorite pick of the draft especially with where we got him and him having a 2nd round grade.

Yes, it has totally made the draft for me. Think the remaining picks are all icing.

I wish I had faster hands trying to write down what they said as they were saying it. The could not say enough good things about the Cards, their drafts and coaching staff. Coincidently if anyone has Sirius turn the tv off and listen to the draft on Sirius. It blows ESPN and NFLN's coverage out of the water.

Kiper loved the pick too. Says no one would've questioned him in the 2nd round, and he heard talk he could've gone in the 1st.

Floyd + Massie > Reiff + whatever WR they could have had in 4th Rd.

No doubt about that. The combo we got is far and away better.

Bookmarking this thread for next year when another ridiculous "Graves can't draft" thread pops up.

Here's the beef Clayton, with a side of egg on your face.

Had us as a loser in day two for not reaching for an OT, even though we picked up a 1st-2nd round corner with our only pick.

I love this draft.

Now hopefully an OLB/DE falls.

Either way without a 2nd round pick we got possibly Two day 1 starters, and an eventual starting CB who could be the nickel back come game 1. While of course it doesn't matter, Clayton should reward us for getting 'the beef' lowering than he was capable of thinking. He even wanted us to trade up.

The more I see and hear of ESPN and their football coverage the more I realize just how little they know about football. Their analysts are more or less infotainers with the exception of a very select few. Even Schefter went downhill after joining ESPN.

I didn't realize that number was 36%. I knew it was high but not that high. Good quality drafting

The war room decisions are a combination pretty much of Keim, Graves, Whisenhunt with some input from Mike Bidwill. I think they all did a hell of a job this year. Kudo's to them for a job well done.

Absolutely. Give credit where it's due. Best draft since 04' in all liklihood.

We will see hard to top last years draft if everyone hits their talent level. One thing is for sure Whisenhunt and co sure learned from that 07 draft and have hit it out of the park the last couple of years.

Only if you count Ryan Williams as this year's 2nd round pick.

This year's group looks good but will have to step up to equal Peterson, RWilliams, Housler, Acho, Sherman, and Carter. Same for 2010: Dan Williams,DWash, Roberts, Schofield, Skelton and Dray.

In reality the Cardinals have been drafting well for a long time. They just don't keep the guys on the team. I'd say the only sub par draft in the last 10 would be 2005. Even then we still had Antrel Rolle and JJ Arrington contribute to the SB run.

The Cardinals deserve a good report. That was a heck of 3rd day.

It was like there wasn't 32 other teams picking players with them.

Seriously, I like all the 3rd day picks, and think each one (actually besides the QB who I like) is a big time steal.

Shane already talked about Massie, so I will talk about Justin Bethel who is going to be HUGE for this team.

You could also say that while the Cards have a high draft %, it is because our team have sucked for so long, that players will come in and start.

Did you see that jump he made? 60" standing flat footed was it? Kid could make some noise. Him and Fletcher will be ST's phenoms at worst. Poosibly on all four of the ST's. for both.
