you get it here first. It was surprisingly slow. There were 3 hand-timed 40's all with about 3 minute intervals in between. The first two were in the 4.4's and the third one was a 4.5. Not quite sure on the 1/100th's.

i take back my bet offer that he will definitely go before 20th :D . What a disappointing time. There were reports all over that he ran a 4.32 last week. Oh well.

Maybe he was celebrating last week's time and hurt his ankle, and couldn't give it his all this time around. ;)

Funny that 4.41 is disappointing.

My guess is that he will be picked in the early 20's.

Maybe he'll still be there at the 38th pick. I sure would like to see him in a Cards uniform.

Well, everyone knew that he was fast. I'll wait until the reports about how he ran the drills and how his hands were. But if he really disappointed in the 40s, you have to wonder if it shook up his confidence.

You have to wonder not whether he'll be picked in the Top 15, but if he'll still even be the 2nd WR off the board after Calvin Johnson.

All you have to do is watch tape of him and you know he's fast.

Bad times...I wonder if his ankle is hurt worse than it appears.

If he lasted to 38 and we took him he's the desert devin hester.

Hester ran a slow time and he went 57th last year. I want a direct line to RG if Ginn is there at 38. You never know, he may be.Look at how far Jarret's stock dropped on his 40 time and he's a ton bigger than Ginn. Russ is correct though that in game speed he's extremely fast.

All the reports said he was going to be running the 12th. Why did they move up the schedule?

I don't know why they had that reported.A few weeks ago, Tressel said it was on the 11th. Spring practice is going on right now so maybe the 12th was an aletrnate day in case one of the practices had to be changed for weather reasons.

Getting more bizzare info. Now they are saying he ran between a 4.38 and 4.42 on all 3 of his times,WTF  . Now thw weird thing, they cut short his receiving drills after he FELL on 5 of 6 routes. It's raining here today but they have an indoor facility so i'm not sure what is going on with that.

I'm pretty sure the ankle isn't close to being 100%. His draft rating could be tarnished, but not so much because his forty time wasn't in the 4.3's (4.41 isn't chopped liver), but that the ankle is taking longer that expected and durability must be a concern.

This story is so very, very weird. Len P is reporting that Ginn ran times "between 4.37-4.45 seconds". He says that Ginn's conditioning was sub-par, but the "performance strengthened his status as a Top 15 selection in the NFL Draft."

On the other hand, Todd McShay of Scouts Inc reports, "Slow-healing Ginn Underwhelming in Workout". He reports that Ginn was slower than Roy Hall was at Ohio State's real Pro Day. McShay also says that reports were that Ginn started to favor his foot halfway though position drills.

McShay ranks Ginn below Dewayne Bowe out of LSU now.

Why would Leon Hall be working out at OSU's pro day?Does McShay realize that Hall wears a blue and gold helmet?

I know what he meant. He meant Roy Hall, who did run a 4.38 at the pro day. He's an intriguing guy. He's a big guy who fought injuries his entire career at OSU but has all the measurables you'd look for in a WR.

As an OSU alum, I've followed Ginn closely. This doesn't surprise me at all. I've said that the thing that's special about Ginn, the thing that he has that I've in very few players before him, isn't super human speed, it's super human acceleration. Case-in-point, the Fiesta Bowl against Notre Dame. One minute the DB is running step for step with Ginn, the next he hit's the afterburner and has a cushion of 5+ yards. He plucks the pass out of the air for the easy score.

That being said, I wouldn't touch Ginn with a 10-foot pole. It's not a lack of speed that scares me. It's the fact that Ginn is a much better athlete than he is a wide receiver. He has two qualities that absolutely terrify me: He is a very sloppy route-runner and is often prone to longs stretches of drops. Watch the OSU-Michigan game? Ginn dropped not one, not two, but three passes that hit him square in the hands.

I understand the philsopohy that you can teach a guy with world class speed/acceleartion to run better routes and catch, and you can't teach a guy that runs perfect routes and catches fantasically, but runs a 5.0 to be faster. The thing is, Ginn, IMO, is way too raw of a prospect to burn a top pick on.

He's a true boom-or-bust pick, but I'd elect to stay far away. (But not because "gulp", he might be slow".
