"We'd like to grow a little bit more on the defensive line and add some length, not only at defensive end, but outside linebacker. And then safety is an issue where we need to continue to grow and get better at that spot. Inside linebacker probably needs more depth, and we'll find out what Kevin Minter is made of. Kevin is a guy that we drafted in the second round and is going to replace Karlos Dansby. He is in the audition stage. He's got to prove that he is the guy that we thought he was coming out of college at LSU."

Per these needs, who do we go after in the draft??

Have to like the way Keim tells it like it is. Unlike the double talk we used to get.

Sounds like he is focused on our needs.

It is so refreshing to have an efficient FO for a change.

I wonder if the question leading to that statement was only about the defense. There is no mention of offense and we still need another RT and Center IMO (and possible TE as well).

I don't think so, as far as being focused on our needs.

I think he's focused on the future, not this season. We have decent d-line depth, not great but it certainly isn't a huge current problem.

The team is looking at the future without 90, and to Dan Williams next contract. OLB is certainly not settled but it isn't the most pressing need (RT and S).

Don't know about RT. Sowell, Massie is pretty good competition there. Sowell especially should get stronger. He seems like a real motivated type and Arians loves him. If Arians and co. can get Massie to put in the hard work then we have a pretty decent competion there. If they see he hasn't been putting in the time and communicating to the coaches then we need to definately look at bringing in a vet and possibly a mid-later Rd. pick. Could be sooner also if they're really down on Massie.

I think it's interesting that he's focused on length on the team; DE, OLB and S is what he mentions. I dunno, to me it's secondary to skills, motor and production.
Obviously you would like to have ideal measurables from players for the positions mentioned, but is it an absolute requisite? There has to be a balance in grading and drafting.

BB I believe Keim is simply looking to have guys on the D-line who can still be a force with their hands up, in deflecting or changing the trajectory of passes even when they cannot penetrate. As for the safeties, length allows for them to compete better with tall tight ends, and this division has a bunch of them.

He mentioned lenght also for safety position?
So how could be a target pryor with his 5'11 height, even in vertical leap he put just a ''normal'' 34 inches.
What do u think are the target at this point?
Converting mcgill or jean baptiste to safety
Or natural safeties like buchanon or if he drop dix?

He didn't say exactely that he wanted length at saftey. He definately wants it at DE and OLB. At S he said, "we need to grow a little bit more on the defensive line and add some length, not only at defensive end, but outside linebacker. And then safety is an issue where we need to continue to grow and get better at that spot".

If they're looking for length at the OLB spot they'd have to consider Ealy @20 or trading down just a little. At DE they'd consinder Hageman or Tuitt, imo.

At saftey, I believe Buchannan has 2" on Pryor and may be had in the 2nd. if they really need height at the position. To me it's secondary.

Who is left at saftey in FA still?

Not in that clip, but previously when speaking at the NFL combine, Keim said the below - is he talking LB still there, or backfield?

"Specifically, the Cardinals need “longer, athletic cover guys who can address the tight-end situation,” Keim said. “We gave up big yards to tight ends. And offensive-line-wise, we just need to strengthen it and create more depth.”

Linky

EDIT: I thougth I'd heard him mention it before.

"We want to get longer and more athletic at safety," he explained. "We want to do some things that offset the tight ends that we have to face every week."

There's a link to an interview on Revenge of the Birds from Feb 15th.

Off the top of my head, guys with length at those positions:
DE: Hageman and Tuitt
OLB: Barr and Trent Murphy
S: Clinton-Dix

Yep, and the Cards have also been linked to Adrian Hubbard, who is also 6'6, from Bama.
