playoff baseball is awesome - it just seems like there are so many games that go donw to the absolute last play.

I still remember the DBacks back in '01!

DBacks beating the Yanks was a thing of beauty!

I REALLY hope the Sox can beat the Yanks!

Go Yankees only because the misery of Sox fans brings a smile to my face. Plus, if the Yankees lose a seven game series after being up 3-0 to the Red Sox the world will shortly end.

I'm rooting for the Astros to play the Red Sox in the World Series and beat them. That would be hilarious!

come on Mao - you know the funniest thing in the world would be for the Sox to come back - win the next game - have a two run lead with two outs in the ninth in Game 7 and then give up a three-run homer to blow it - or bet yet - hit a two run homer to beat the Yanks in game 7 and then go on to be swept by Houston in the next series - now that wouldbe classic. We beat the Yanks! We beat the Yanks! Then to get smakced around - I would die laughing. Doesn't matter - Schill's a warrior but that ain't ankle ain't gonnahold up and they are the Red Sox.

Both scenarios would be hilarious. I can't stand Sox fans out West. None have ever been to Fenway, yet they wear their status as being a fan of one of the worst franchises in baseball history like a badge of honor. I guess some Cards fans do the same, but at least the Cardinals don't consistently blueball us like the Sox annually do to their fans.

As for the game, the way the Sox bullpen has been abused thanks to Francona's idiotic coaching it would not surprise me if one member of such bullpen finds his way into Red Sox lore with the likes of Bill Buckner and Grady Little and blows Game 6 or 7. Schilling (and Leiber for that matter) need to throw at least seven innings tomorrow or we're going see a lot of late runs due to the 85 mph fastballs being lobbed by tired arms.

I lived in New Hampshire for a couple years in the mid 90's. I coudn't help but cheer for the Sox. I strongly dislike the Yanks, and would like to see nothing better than a comback of being down 3-0 to come back knock out the Yanks and win the title.

I was born in New York and went to Fenway every year for summer vacation(family huge Boston fans). I have seen the Red Sox play the Yankees at Fenway and Yankee stadium, and there is no single rivalry that compares to it.

I grew up in Mass. and NH as a Red Sox fan, and I have been to Fenway. :p
I have hated the MFY for as long as I can remember, and 2001 - which cured me of Red Sox pessimism - just reinforced that. I am a DBack fan, and consider rooting for Boston a bit of a relapse, a fall off the baseball wagon - but this is a very enjoyable team to watch, for the most part. I think you ought to give some credit - this is spectacularly entertaining, grueling baseball, and they never give up.

I want to see them win partly because I think watching the bewilderment on the fans' faces for the next year will be entertaining. They won't know what to do with themselves. Then Cubs can win next year, and they can all shut up.

But - still think St. Louis against MFY would be a heckuva Series.

I was born in NY and my entire family is from there. I grew up a Yankee fan, remember the '80's? They were horrible.

When the D'backs came I adopted them as my #1 team since I grew up in AZ, but I still root for the Yankees when they aren't playing the Diamondbacks.

The '01 World Series tore my family in two. My Grandma -D'backs, Grandpa-Yanks, Uncles and Dad Yankees, Wife Yankees, Me, my brothers, D'backs.

I had to seperate my wife and brother at Game Two cause I thought they were gonna kill each other.

"My team" as a kid was the Sox of the late 70's - Yaz, Fred Lynn, Jim Rice. Fisk, El Tiante, Evans.

The current Sox just don't do it for me. Combined, I don't think they could carry Yaz's jock.

Red Sox better score some runs as Schilling is dodging trouble (4 near home runs kept in by the wind).

Good job by the UMPs there. I don't want to hear how the Yankees beat the Red Sox tonight on a bad call.
