On passing downs, Kareem Martin will get more reps...but it's tough to imagine him being a factor versus Russell Wilson in the base defense, especially versus the read option...which is why we may get a good look at the more athletic Alani Fua on the edge this week.

I like Fua, but I doubt they are going to give him increased snaps at a position he hasn't played. Fua has only lined up for ~3.8% of the teams defensive snaps that all have been at ILB.

I agree, I don't think Fua is built to play rush OLB like Markus. I think our options are either Kareem Martin or Shaq Riddick.

Personally, I think Kareem has had more time in the system and is likely to get the playing time over Riddick. Riddick's issue coming out was lack of strength. Not sure he's had enough time to over-come that, hence his being inactive nearly all season.

Martin was getting playing time earlier in the year, but seemed to find himself in some sort of dog house following the Lions game. (EDIT: Strike that - his playing time seems to only come in blow-out victories. Given that, we should definitely play him more often.)
