The Good: just noticed that it is very conceivable that the Seahawks could start the season 0-2, opening on the road against the Rams and Packers. Wouldn't that help our cause.

The Bad: I'm sorry, but I just can't seem to buy into Palmer's prospective health and durability. I simply have too bad of a feeling about his age and bum knee. I know all the hype is positive right now, but I have experience with bum knees and his age. I will be shocked if he makes it through the season, and even more shocked if he makes it through his contract. Unless our new upgraded OL shines and gives him Manning or Brady type of protection all year, I will continue to have my doubts, cringing with every twist, turn, and collision he is subjected to.

The Good: They say Ellington is looking like his old self again, darting and dashing all over the field. Let's just hope his "old self" doesn't include his history of injuries also. I'm glad we drafted Johnson, and won't be surprised if he is given a lot more work this season than anyone of us would expect.

The Bad: How much of a step backward will our defense take? With a new defensive coordinator and different players in the middle and up front, it is hard to say. We will definitely need Palmer to make up some of the difference on offense that our D might relinquish over previous years.

The Good: John Brown may have a breakout season with more attempts going his way via a healthy Palmer. He could become the most exciting player on our team.

The Bad: Will Floyd take a huge step forward and become worthy of such a high draft choice? With Fitz winding down his stellar career, will we be in need of spending a high draft pick to replace him soon, or could Floyd eventually fill his shoes? Me thinks this season will answer that question fully.

The Good: I think we are all excited about seeing our "new" fully loaded OL. Wouldn't it be wonderful to see open holes for our RBs to strut through, along with a brick wall for our QB to stand up tall and straight behind?

The Bad: Like usual, so goes our team depending on our OL. Another preseason where we are working to solidify the right side. Each year we begin with higher hopes, and each year we end feeling lacking in that area. Could this be the year that the injury bug ignores us and we finally get it right?

RE: Palmer and his knee

I think the intention is to keep his knee in a brace all year. Granted, I have never experienced this but I believe that is to keep it from having added stress on the ligaments/joint to help with the sacks etc. through the year. It's definitely a concern but I think thats part of why they've invested so much into the OL these days.

I'm loving the OL. Being able to run when they know we are is huge. The D get's some rest. CP get's time. Our WR's wont be looking at 4 DB's most of the game. This will be a great year the way the team is built if our run game is what I believe it will be.

I don't get all of the "Ellington injury history" comments. He's been injured once where he has missed time. Seen it mentioned in different threads & other forums where he is either fragile or injury prone.

I am totally with you here. He is not injury prone, he was simply called upon to perform more than he was capable of because we were so thin at RB. We are no longer thin at RB, or anywhere else for that matter.

He was drafted late because he was nursing a hammy at the Combine. Hurt in 1/2 of his pro seasons.

This is what should be the game changer for us. The D can afford to take a.step back and less pressure on Palmer who has been very good for us. Kiem has beefed up the oline and we should be a strong running team with a healthy Ellington the talented rookie and Williams as the Change up.

We are going to be as balanced as ever and not much weakness. Add our probowl punter and add no Ted Ginn!

Your glass is half full... You don't find good QB'S in this league. Palmer is a damn good qb and leader. Kolb? Skelton? Lindly?

We can't worry about injury it's a violent game. Stanton is an upgrade over the guys we have had since Warner retired.

Great post.

All valid concerns, IMO.

Palmer and Stanton have injury concerns, imo. Furthermore, just hoe good is the defense going to be coupled with that is really the story of next season.
