Alex Smith proved a lot of his detractors wrong this year and so did the 9ers. Like it or not they represent our division in the NFC and I will be pulling for them the rest of the way because of that, unless they play Baltimore. Great win by SF, they are a very good team.

Wish they lost...... What a clutch performance by Smith and VD.

I think the Packers will crush them next week.

Congrats to the Niners.

Good for them, and it was nice to watch their fans, and their team enjoy and take advantage of playing in the post season. I know they have a long history of success but they have not been in the playoffs for a long time, thus the kudos.

They are our rivals, and I will hate them next year, and every game after, but they are a good rival to have.

It is not like hating the Cowboys. I just want them to lose all the time. They could lose 32 in a row by 62 pts each time, and I will still root for them to lose with everything I got.

Niners? For a rival. Good team. So, since our season is over. Good for the "bad guys". Congrats to our antagonist.

#1 Pick

Takes 7 years to make the playoffs in the always dominant NFCW.

This a joke? I heard this several times today. I wish I could fail at my job for 6 years, not get fired, and get praised when I eventually do what I was hired to do.

7 OC's and 3 HC's in 7 years. Do you think maybe that might have something to do with that Bodha?

What the 49ers-Saints game showed is what I was saying in another thread when I was asking if the Cards could win 19-13 which is what will have to happen if the offense stands pat. No matter how good your defense is you better be able to score or you're going to get beat when you run into offenses like New Orleans, Green Bay and New England. It's just the way the NFL has set up the game.

The niners gave up an average of 14.3 ppg this last season. They had to score 36 to win by 4 today.

Made me want to puke, only team I hate more than the Niners is the Cowpokes.

And please, enough with the Smith hyperbole. It took the guy 7 years to win his 1st playoff game after being picked 1st overall. Gimme a break about the offensive coordinators. If Smith hadnt blown balls for 6 seasons one of those guys would have been able to keep their job.

He is finally competent, yippie. I hope the Packers tear the Niners to shreds next week.

Who said they want them to win? "Shameful" is behaving the way you hate fans of other teams acting after the Cardinals win when no one gave them a chance.

Give credit where credit is due--sports isn't about hating another team, it's about loving yours. The 9ers earned their time in the sun--I'm not going to try to take it from them.

the original poster, for starters.

Yeah they are representing the division my favorite team plays in. A division that has been called a "joke", "weak", and "soft" the past 5 years, yet managed to send two teams to the SB in that time. My alliegence lies with the Cards and if they don't make it in I root for the NFCW team. If that makes me a bad Cardinals fan, or shameful on ASFN so be it, I could careless. The 9ers earned it and are representing the NFCW well this year.
