From Pete Prisco's CBS Sportsline's "Notes":

We have been preaching it here for a while, but now it appears to be a theory that is actually gaining momentum. North Carolina State quarterback Philip Rivers might be moving ahead of Ben Roethlisberger on some team's draft boards. Don't be shocked to see Rivers go before Roethlisberger in April.

The Ben R. Bandwagon couldn't last forever.

He better get off his ass and start to strut his stuff or Rivers really might pass him by!

Miami (Ohio) has its pro day on March 25. North Carolina State is holding theirs on March 23rd.

Mike Williams isn't going to be working out until March 7, a day after Maurice Clarett's workout.

I dont care what Prisco says!

If I'm picking for the Cards, I take Philip Rivers at #3.

You're high as a kite. No way I'd take Rivers over Big Ben. Rivers has peaked...he won't get any better-the question is can he carry over to the next level what he already does. In my mind, his bust quotient is just as high, then, as Big Ben's.

I'd be happier with that than with Tommie Harris or Gallery, but that would certainly be nutty. If we really want him, trade down for whatever you can get.

I like Rivers but not a #3.

I'd as soon pick Joan Rivers at #3........not sure about the bust potential.

Prisco is drunk. Big Ben will be taken before Rivers. And if the Cards are smart they will take him at #3.

LOL.

I love this time of year - when the so-called gurus rip up all the research they developed over the past 1 - 2 years and jump on the old momentum train.

Stop and think for a moment. Rivers hasn't changed since a month ago. Neither has Roethlisberger. What's changed are some media folk who heard a scout or two say something.

As fast and accurately as Rivers can release the ball, he still has to be considered a bit risky at #3, because of his sidearm delivery.

That doesn't mean Rivers won't be a very good pro. It just means he brings a little bit of "if" with him that might drop him down a few notches.

And I'll still stick to my guns. Among Manning, Rivers and Roethlisberger, Ben looked the best of the three.

Nope. Philip Rivers is the real deal. If you believe in a player you draft him, regardless of the gurus' opinions.

I remind you that Joe Montana was a third round pick. In hindsight, he'd have been the #1 pick in the draft.

Philip Rivers should be the #1 pick in this draft. Gallery #2. There is no #3. Nine different guys are equal here.

I wouldn't mind Rivers but you have to do some predicting too. The odds are other people won't pick him so the best thing to do is to trade down in that scenario...he may not even go top 20 and he really isn't Greens type of QB I don't think...

Ben R, is a primo athlete who can really move, plus a cannon for an arm.
Also has a good attitude about himself. Rivers throws a side arm and that always scares me, to easy for a big lineman to bat down. They might try to change that. I hope that they wake up and draft Ben at 3.
