The Celtics already have a turnover-prone PG who can't shoot and has a bad attitude.

Although the Celtics will not say it, I think they would like to move Rondo. Maybe they would bite on a Bledsoe trade but it would have to be a multi-team trade because the Suns do not want Rondo.

Just a gut feeling, but I think Bledsoe would love to be the starting PG in Boston.

It was pretty common knowledge that he was on the trading block and now, reportedly, Boston has notified the rest of the league that he is no longer available. But even if he were and even if you ignored the chemistry issues that abound with him, you're still looking at giving up a player under contract for a soon to be free agent (end of this season). I can't imagine we'd voluntarily go that route knowing that Rondo is almost surely demanding the max. And it's a max that will far exceed Bledsoe's current salary.

I was talking about a third team taking Rondo in a multi-team trade involving Bledsoe. The Suns would be getting different player(s) in return in this scenario.

It's not likely to happen but it gives me something to talk about. :)

I see. Other than Bledsoe there isn't a player on Boston that I would value anywhere near Eric so I guess you're suggesting we pick up someone from another team? About the only player that might interest me for Bledsoe would be Horford and I doubt Atlanta would want either PG for him. Looking around the league I'm not sure there's a legitimate target that would interest me for Bledsoe. Although I wouldn't be against adding a backup and a couple of picks instead.

Yes, in this unlikely scenario. Bledsoe would go to Boston, Rondo would go to a third team and the Suns would get a player of choice in return. Now, who is that third team? The Suns would not need a backup PG in such a trade, Dragic, IT and Ennis would be more than enough. I can't think of a trade that would get the Suns to bite other than a top draft pick coming back.

Right, and then you're asking that third team to give up quality talent or a high pick for a short-term rental of Rondo. Not happening.

We agree this is unlikely to happen.

It is just something to talk about sort of like Kevin Love.

Well, that 3rd team might want to deal for Bledsoe directly anyway.

True. It's interesting how quickly the thread started revolving around Boston. Maybe there is a team that would directly deal for Bledsoe however they may not have the goods the Suns want.

wish we could make Bledsoe for Rose workout.

Bulls value defense, Bledsoe has that trait.

Rose hopefully recognizes our training staff, we'd take a gamble on an mvp.

I wouldn't touch Rose. His comments should be a warning sign to any team.

Bledsoe would be in Thibs' doghouse within a week. Chicago is all about the team. Bledsoe is all about Bledsoe. If his ego is not being stroked, he doesn't play defense.

Don't get me wrong- I would LOVE to see Rose in Phoenix, but there's no way Chicago would make that deal.

First of all, as near as I can tell Thibs does not have a dog house. This guy got the most out of Nate Robinson, and seeing how much you hate Bledsoe, Robinson would probably put you over the edge.

Secondly... Bledsoe only tries when his ego is being stroked? I love how this stuff is getting kicked up about 50 notches. Dragic has been pouting more than anyone so far this year, he also puts about about 1/5th the defensive effort Bledsoe does. But, as per usual, he is sanctified for things that Bledsoe would be despised for.

Its comical at this point.

Sorry, that's just nonsense on both counts.

Would love to see this ego stroking meter that you have apparently deployed. Amazing how you can calibrate that to correlate to defensive performance.

Ah first time I'm agreeing with you in the year of 2014 probably.

Bledsoe could go on to shoot 40% rest of the season but I'll still take him over Rose until Rose shows some consistency in being healthy.

I realize the irony since Bledsoe is also injury prone but Bledsoe is at much less risk than Rose imo.

Hurts me to type this because you have no idea how huge a Derrick Rose fan I used to be. He was my 2nd favorite player in the league after Steve Nash ever since his rookie season. A shame how his career has turned since winning the MVP.

Rose is a clearly superior player to Bledsoe but I wouldn't go near him and it isn't just because of his health. The comment he made about being able to play and choosing not to has to be a concern for whatever team holds his rights. Honestly, if I were Chicago I'd try to give him away and if that failed, I'd buy him out (hopefully at a discount).

why would we think that? Dragic was 3rd team All-NBA and is only making 7.5 million bucks and would be one of the top prizes in FA where he could make a ton more money. he wasn't just going to sit back and get paid a lower salary just because he likes us. no player does that right in the middle of the prime.

If he was going to opt out. Even Goran said earlier that it would be a quick negotiation, which still assumes he will opt out.

He would be throwing away nearly 10 million if he didn't.

Why would Boston want Bledsoe when they have Marcus Smart. That would be like having two exactly alike players. What kind of team would want twins?

I like how people have so much knowledge and deep psychological understanding of Bledsoe from facial expressions on TV. He only plays defense when his ego is stroked? Where in the world does this come from?

They just signed him to a five year contract. What makes anyone think the Suns front office would be looking to trade him after 12 games? Has he radically changed from last year? From the end of September when they committed $70M to him?

I really have a hard time understanding all the hand wringing and apparent hatred for this very young and inexperienced team so early in the season. I don't understand what expectations are. I think we knew they would be fighting to get into the top 8 somehow. Right now they are 10th. Is this a huge surprise to anyone?

Maybe what you call hand wringing is just a dislike for the direction this team is headed. And just because you think that this team only has enough talent to fight to get into the playoffs doesn't mean that they do. Perhaps your assessment of the talent is incorrect?

I see them as much more talented than that, probably one of the most talented teams offensively on an individual basis. I think Bledsoe, aided by Hornaceks decision to change nothing, is corrupting this team and it's future. It reminds me very much of Gentry's decision to hand Michael Beasley the ball and say "We want Michael to shoot 20 times a game." The only difference is that because this team has so much talent they'll will win their fair share but fall far short of their potential. So what we end up with is people calling for patience.

What this team needs is a nice losing streak to wake things up. Philly is a good place to start.

All this talk of trades is foolish. Unless McD pulls off a deal for a legit star the Suns need to wait at least until the ASG before they make any moves. They need time to see what they've got. Basically trading Frye for IT and adding Len has changed the chemistry enough for now.

That was Blanks who wanted Beasley to be the star of the team, Gentry benched Beasley as fast as one in his position could do so.

Not surprised to see you are rooting for the team to lose... as though that would help anything. If this team starts struggling so bad that they can't beat the tanking teams then you're going to really need patience because McD would probably blow up the roster (bye bye Dragic) and start over. Also not surprised to see you somehow think nothing has changed, despite the rotations being constantly shuffled and that Dragic and Bledsoe are both clearly starting to find their stride.
