Thanks, but again.. I'm only finding it mentioned by the Suns and Spurs, but nowhere in the trades that went down for both NBA.com and ESPN.
I'm sure it happened.
So the argument about Sarver being cheap doesn't really carry much weight, as he is spending more money that he needs to, and doing it right now. Does it?
Nope.I guess playing in the NBA just doesn't mean what it once did.
How so? He's paying 1.2 million when he won't have to pay any second round draft picks for two years now (depending on when this Goran Kid comes over...if ever).
Are you really saying that Sarver isn't unbelievably cheap? This drop in the bucket hardly redeems him from the litany of first round picks that were sold or players and GMs that he got rid of to save money.

What I am saying is that he can shed the "cheap" label for at least this draft. He is spending more money than he needs to.
Guys, you should check out the draft video on Suns.com. It shows the inner workings of the draft room--some really cool stuff we don't normally see. There was a 2nd round offer from the Lakers that was there, and Steve Kerr talking to SA about making the Dragic pick. Very cool stuff.
I will never forgive Sarver for making the worst trade of all time. Kurt Thomas and future first round picks for cash. Thomas, a hustler and hard worker who didn't want much money gets traded for absolutely nothing. WTF

I'm sure you conveniently forget that Colangelo did the exact same thing with Googs.
Yeah but I thought when we traded Googs he was done? He did nothing to contribute to the team he was traded to. Kurt still had something left in the tank and can contribute. Googs was dead weight wasn't he or do you mean something else?
He had a little left in the tank. He wasn't as good as KT was at the time, but that's besides the point though. If you can't forgive Sarver, then you shouldn't be able to forgive Jerry for doing the same thing just a few years earlier.
OK, now I gotcha. I guess though that would depend on your view of those players at that time. Shedding dead weight if that is your opinion (it is mine about Googs) is much more acceptable then shedding a guy in Kurt who could clearly still contribute is different.
Kurt came back to haunt us later. So I get that view.
Utah will receive the least favorable of Phoenix’s two first-round picks in the 2004 NBA Draft, either Phoenix's or New York’s selection, which was acquired from the Knicks in a trade on January 5. The second conditional first-round pick was also acquired from New York and is protected through 2010.
HELLO!
Googs had one year left on an awful contract and he never even played anymore. The Suns had to bribe someone to take it away because they were selling the team.
Kurt Thomas had one year left on a decent contract (8 million). The Suns bribed someone to take away while they were competing for a championship and he was their best interior defender.
Here's the KICKER: The picks we gave away with Googs were CONDITIONAL:

Agreed! How can someone be so obtuse as to compare the two. The KT trade bit the championship contender suns in the a**, googs was dead weight on a bad team.
Yea but it's as if he didn't want to work for the starting job.
He saw the competition of Oberto, Horry, Bonner, and Elson and wanted no part of it.
While in Houston his only competition was Hayes and a 1 footed Yao Ming.
