Needless to say there was alot of bitching from Niner fans about that call as they said it was incidental and his hands were coming down. Could have been no called just like the hold and no one would have said a thing.

Thems the breaks

There is no incidental two hands to the QBs helmet. It is an automatic penalty. No judgement involved, AT ALL.

Exactly. Fans can be upset that it is accidental, but that penalty doesnt acknowledge intent. Helmet to helmet or blow to the helmet is automatically called.

I don't see any reason why a defender's hands would come down on the QB's head like that. I'm pretty sure he had them up in the first place because he was trying to deflect the pass Warner was throwing so to me, he was just trying to get away with a little extra hit on the QB disguised as follow-through. He got caught. Stupid penalty to even put his hands on Warner's helmet. It isn't 1970 anymore.

Goes both ways guys - The Niners had a questionable call that drastically altered the game too (Roughing the passer).

Good teams overcome those things - even Amaerica darlings like the Cowboys have calls go against them. Thats why you have to be good enough to reduce that margin for error.

Two hands coming down on the QB's head is called roughing the passer. Questionable to 49 fans, commentators, and, perhaps, you... but not to the officials.

Yes CC - I was stomping my feet in anger and yelling at the top of my lungs on how unfair it all is. Poor Poor 49er's:rolleyes:

My point in bringing that up is there are two sides to every coin. Not the merit of the actual play. I feel like we need to get over this "conspiracy theory" or refs against us mentality that pops up from time to time when a play doesn't go our way. In this instance Rolle or Wilson should have made the play.

Every team thinks they get jobbed from time to time. My feeling is that it evens out over the course of the season and overwhelmingly you make your own breaks and if you are really good one call doesn't make or break you.

We don't want to sound like whiny Seahawks fans now do we?;)

Someone should send this to the NFL...Because that is as bad as it can get. How does that not get called...especially when the refs had to looking at or near the ball carrier?

Its the Cards people the NFL could care less if we had a call go against us, any long time cards fan knows this. Just be happy that TD wasn't a game winner as it could have been in past years.

There is not explicit conspiracy, they don't need one its very simple.

The NFL reviews officiating weekly. All they have to do is yell at a ref if they make judgment calls on the Cowboys and not yell when its on us.

A few seasons of that and job is done, the new official learns.

Ask you friendly NFL owner when you see him and BBR and see what he says about the bogus call de jeur. You might be surprised at the answer when its off the record.

I guess I missed the point. I thought it was a bad call but didn't feel it was anything conspiratorial. I didn't even think it was a bad call when watching the game, although the play seemed to transpire in an odd way. When I saw the photo it looked pretty blatant.

A team can't focus on the offiicals though and just have to play through the up's and down's of the officiating.

Good teams play well enough to beat the other team and the bad calls! :koolaid:

Got to take the game out of the officals hands...

We're talking about a play where we as fans of the team didn't even realize that there was a missed call until Wednesday. Can we please put the tin foil hats away?

FWIW I forwarded that pic to a Bay area writer who had commented on the 49ers being upset about the hands to the helmet penalty and said maybe if you show them this pic of their only TD of the game they'll be less concerned about that other call.

Haven't got a reply yet.

Stuff happens and over time things generally even out, for bad teams bad calls seem to hurt more which is why for so long Cards fans have felt picked on by the refs.

If we got a bad crew for the 49ers game, imagine the garbage crew we are gonna get for the Miami game. Any idea who we're getting?
