Gortat turns down extension

If the Suns get the LAL lottery pick, I think the Suns can probably trade Gortat + that pick to move up into the top 8 maybe top 5.

I don't think that's a very good return for Gortat and a lottery pick, certainly not if it doesn't get us into the top 3 or so. This is a pretty deep draft with probably 3 very good prospects but lacks the obvious superstar at the top so I see no reason to pay a premium to move from 14th to 6th. If that's all we can get from Gortat I'd just as soon keep him. He's solid defensively, moves well and, when confident, is effective on offense. All I ask is that if we keep Gortat, we make him sell his tutu and ballet shoes before we let him back on the court. Moot argument though as LA will still likely keep their pick.
