Great Series Phoenix

I am a huge Spurs homer, i will admit that 100 times over...But i have to say this has been one helluva series.Phoenix is a fantastic team, and last nights game took my respect for your team to a whole new level. Regardless of my disdain for Amare, i think the rest of your team are scarily good, and i am still very worried about the rest of the series.Although i doubt we will ever see eye to eye regarding the suspensions, i really hope you guys can look past it to see that this is a hard fought, very emotional series on and off the court. These guys are all human and subject to mistakes. I wish it didn't turn out the way it did, but we live with it. You guys didn't seem to be missing Amare and Diaw too much last night.I will say this one, semi negative statement. Stop giving up on your team. Stop making excuses for them. They have enough talent that they don't need your excuses to justify their actions. I've seen countless suns fans saying "congrats spurs on your trophy" "stern gave the spurs the series", nothing has been won or lost yet. There are still 2 games of basketball to be played most likely, and i for one look forward to them.GO SPURS GO!

our problem last night was that we didnt have a gauranteed way to score, such as running the nash-amare pick and roll. we had to live and die by the jump shot at the end, and we obviously died

I think D'Antoni may need to figure out another weapon then.I think the beauty of the Spurs is we have a plethora of "go to" plays, and it really helps to cycle through them. It seem'd the suns tried to stay too one dimensional, as you said, and it ate em in the end.

Just enough that the Spurts won the game. A pivotal game. Yes the Suns are talented and they don't have to resort to dirty plays to get a win. The sad thing is that the Spurts are also talented but they employ dirty play instead of relying on their talent. It would've been a better series instead of a bitter series. Be glad Stern is the commisioner, for a comiisioner with balls would've rocognized the error of suspending Amare and Boris. If he wants to adhere to the letter of the rule, then they were already heading to see to Nash when Cheap Shot Bob threw his second shot at Raja's head. That's why he got 2 games. I'll be real curious to see if Stern makes it to the game in San Antonio. If he does, I'm sure all you Spurts fans will be standing in line to buy him a beer, whereas the Suns fans will be standing in line to throw him a beer. I hope it goes to game 7 so Cheap Shot Bob can be in range of the Suns fans.

Welcome to the board. This is the perfect example of how a Spurs fan can stay on this board. You don't need to kiss our butts, but at least try not to stir up the hornets nest.

I honestly hope for a Game 7 where both teams are at full strength and we have no BS from the officials on either side of the game.

Just let the players play and let the fans enjoy it.

I can't say I have "disdain" for any young player, even Carmelo, and I certainly don't see the point in disliking Amare, who grew up in such Dickensian squalor that he'd probably have no chance to be in the league at all if his personality were even slightly different.

I don't even think Horry is a dirty player, but I think it was a dirty play on his part. Why even go for the charge at that point? Just reach around, pick up the foul, stop the clock. Stupid.

It is actually a good move, from a decision tree perspective. Taking the charge has the potential to result in drawing an offensive foul, and thus getting the ball back down three. Say, a 15 or 20 percent chance. If not, it is a blocking foul, and Nash shoots free throws. Simply fouling him is a 100% chance of Nash shooting free throws and you go down by two possessions.

Trying to draw a charge there is a sound play, although terribly executed leading to a cheap shot. It's the equivalent to going for the steal and fouling if you can't get it.

It takes more time to set up, and it cost San Antonio a second or two more. It potentially gave the Suns one more thing to get motivated about. Personally, I think the Spurs would have preferred to put the Suns to sleep. I do not think the Spurs wanted to ramp up the emotions in this series. That's not their style. If not for some stupid decisions by Amare and Diaw, the Spurs probably would've been in serious trouble. But we know how that panned out now ...

From what he said, he was setting up to take a charge and yes, if you look at it he does look that way at first. Then he realized Nash is faster than he thought, and he wouldn't be set in place in time, so as Nash came by he clocked him. He already wasn't able to take the charge he wanted to, so he had no reason to flop to sell it...instead he went aggressive to still get the foul call.

His original intent was to take a charge, he realized he couldn't so he tried to get the foul anyway and leave a message. Big message, big mistake. This all happened in fractions of seconds. Looking at his body language before the hit, he does look to be trying to set, then just throws himself into Nash. His post hit action was stupid.

Yup indeed its been a fun one to watch this should be the wcf imo best of luck to whatever team moves on hopefully its the suns but winning two against the spurs is going to be a very hard task. But overall its been a very entertaining series other then the foul up between nash and horry.
