Not best coach in Cardinals history because it would be tough to beat Paddy Driscoll or Jim Conzelman but who's been the best coach the Arizona Cardinals ever had? Vote in the poll above.

Now, win/loss records only tell half the story. The key is doing what you can with what you have. Having said that, my vote goes to Vince Tobin. Say what you want but Vince did a lot with so little and when he did succeed, management blew the team up.

Don Coryell is our second best coach. Our best coach will be our next one. Sort of like the second string QB.

he never coached the Arizona Cards:mulli:

In that case why are Stallings and Bugel on the list they never coached the AZ Cardinals either.

The name was changed from Phoenix to Arizona in 1994.

With Joe Bugel we had a top five offense...defense was lacking however which is why they hired Buddy Ryan...
.
Which of our other coaches, after being with the Cardinals,..actually STILL had enough credibility in the NFL to get another job?

Hard to believe that Bugel's '93 defense ranked better in points allowed, #7, than any Cardinal team other than Ryan's '94 team since 1963. But they were 21st in yards allowed.

Of course that '93 team had a typical Cardinals season. Started off horribly, 3-8, and then won 4 of the last 5 to mess up their draft position.

Sadly, the answer is Ken Whisenhunt, but this question is kind of like asking, "who is this country's greatest philosopher in the past 25 years: Carrot Top or Gerorge W. Bush?

kinda funny this poll was meant to show whiz isnt our best coach ever but failed miserably. We may suck right now but Kenny still took us to the promiced land.

He would probably win based on that fact alone even though many opinions have recently changed.

The fact that anyone voted for Ryan shows how dumb this poll is.

Kurt Warner

I like Kurt as much as the next guy but do you guys know what his record was as a starter in AZ?

in 2008 and 2009 he was 19 wins and 11 losses.

In the previous 3 years from 2005-2007 he had an 8-18 record as the starter.

So I know that he had some great games and that he had a great run through the playoffs for 2 seasons, but I think his impact has been a little overblown.

I can't believe even ONE person would vote for McGinnis. Someone must be trolling...

Don Coryell would get my vote.

Don Coryell would also get my vote. In true Cardinal fashion they fired him and I think he entered the Hall of Fame. If not he should. One of the great offensive minds in the NFL>

:yeahthat:

And he didn't always walk on water when he was here either. At times he struggled or even flat out sucked. Gave up the ball in the end zone vs. the 49ers for the first EVER game-ending fumble recovery for a TD in OT by the opposing team.

We always have been able to find the most creative ways to lose. :| Even did it when #13 had the ball.
