I think he has a shot if we finish with six wins. I think he should still be fired even if we win out from this point.

I think the Bidwills may keep him around. I could be wrong, but I just have that feeling.

A big win in St. Louis means a lot to Bill Sr. You could be right. I think the win in St. Louis last year was the main impetus for the Cards resigning Warner.

No way he stays. He has publicly stated that he won't stay unless he gets an extension.

That would be huge mistake.

No matter how many more we win, I think the B's already have it in there heads that Green is gone.

Not to Mention we still have to Play Denver, Seattle, SD on the road, and a better team then we played in the first week SF team on the road.

He never said that.

He said that he would ask for an extension so he wouldnt have to be a lame duck coach if that situation were to happen. He never said he wont stay, he didnt even say he would demand it.

I imagine it'd be hard to "demand" anything when your current "playoff" team is 3-9. Lets hope the B's allow a GM they hire right after the season is over to decide Denny's fate.

I thought their was already an "option" for the 5th year. He wouldn't need a real extension, just the Bidwill's exercising the 5th Year option.

You are correct. If they bring him back, and I doubt very much that happens, then they should go ahead and guarantee that fifth year.

I don't think there is any situation that brings him back. I also think Graves might go with him. Even if he shold win out which is highly unrealalistic, IMO he is gone. If we won out the Bidwills would have to offer an extension even if he has an extension clause. They would have to believe that next year will start and end in the playoffs. If they do I'll be wrong, but my gut says look for a new head coach come Febuary,

I dont see us winning another game this year. The Broncos Chargers and Seahawks will run wild on us. Dennys horrible record here speaks for itself. Even if he wins out I want him gone.

2 factors will play into whether Green is back. First, the Cardinals will have to win at least 6 games & secondly, Green will have to agree to come back as a lame duck coach. There is no way the Bidwill's will extend him, nor should they. I personally think Green won't come back without an extension, so he'll be canned.

I'm all for this as long as its for the Coach of Alabama and not here. If its Alabama I'll drive Denny to the airport myself and even bring a pie for the car ride there.

Yes Green should be kept as Head Coach for next season. What this team needs is Continuity. New head coaches every three years does more damage to an organization most factors.

The O-Line seems to be coming around, Matt is progressing much better than was ever expected by most, and that is saying a lot for a team and organization who due to its cut and run policy with each and every coaching staff the B family has done ever since Don C. days.

What this team really requires is a flat out speed reciever ie Moss type in ablilty, and some good CB's. Then with some good FA's Green will have exactly what this frachise requires to be a real playoff team for years to come.

Just kidding, but he might the coach next year.

here is scenario with the least amount of impact on the pocketbook...graves is not signed....green takes over as "x"...they owe him money anyway....the decision on coaching becomes/remains with one or all of the bidwills....make sense...or not...as a possibility

disclaimer...i am not suggesting this as a "good idea!!!!"

So, he would quit if he doesn't get an extension?

At the very least, the Cards should pick up the option year of his deal if he returns. There's a reason why teams, besides the Cardinals, don't bring in lame duck coaches---it's setting up for failure. I asked, the last time this came up, if anyone knew of a lame duck coach who did well during that season. The two examples I was given were/are not lame duck coaches. If anyone does know of one, then maybe I can buy that scenario.

If you like him enough to bring him back, you should like him enough to guarantee another season. If you don't like him that much, why the hell are you keeping him?
