No joke, the guy showed up with a package of Nutter Butters. That's it.
No tent, no sleeping bag, no food, no money, no beer, no common sense, no clue, no nothing. Only Nutter Butters.
It was mind boggling.

At least they weren't Do-si-dos! :D

(i.e. - Girl Scout variety of Nutter Butters)

I wouldn't be shocked if SD takes him with the First overall pick. He would be the safest pick for them.

Gallery plays the same position as Shelton. Can he play on the right side? Is he as sure a thing over there? I don't know.

Personally, I think that the poor play of the O-line the past two seasons is a result of constant re-shuffling (how long of a stretch did the Shelton-Spikes-Kendall-Davis-Clement line play together as a unit?), a lack of committment to the O-line in game-planning, and poor, poor coaching, as well as a total absence of accountability. These are things that should be restored under a competent regime.

Shelton and Clement can be Pro Bowl performers at their positions. Davis should be in Honolulu every February. The personnel on the offensive line isn't the problem. Their performance is.

I could live with the pick of Gallery, but Sean Taylor would be a playmaking choice that could/would galvanize our defense for the next decade or so. Gallery would be another player that would signal another three-year rebuilding plan for the Cards, possibly more so than if we selected a quarterback.

Boo.

I mostly agree with Kerouac here. Gasp!

Not about Sean Taylor but about Shelton, Big, and Gallery. And I'll add this: Rod Graves may have decided to let Denny Green have the draft lead, but Rod Graves is not going to let that much money go into the offensive line when the defense, RB, QB, and WR are under-funded.

Why not? The Cardinals should be (I would hope are) looking to strengthen every position on the football field. Dennis Green stated, 'you have got to compare your starters with the other starters in you division' and that his philosophy is to take the BPA with each pick in the draft

Gallery is the one player in this years draft that is the most sure thing. He is more of a sure thing than Manning, more certain than Fitzgerald, more proven than any of the Williams', and plays a more critical position than Taylor!

The most stable, hardly ever available through FA or trades, position on a football team is a dominant OT. One NFL insider (and I don't mean some reporter) stated, "He will be your (meaning if you pick him) starting tackle for the next 12 years."

Simply stated, if Robert Gallery is not selected at #'s 1 or 2, he will be the best player available at #3.

Additionally, I think the OL play was one of the most disappointing aspects of the Cardinals season last year. We all know of the Cardinals other expected weakness going into the season last year (CB, DL, WR, etc.). But the OL was expected to be the strength of the team. They simply did not play up to expectations.

Shelton was arguably the most solid of the OL. Kendall who played well in a new position, has been hurt in each of the last two seasons, or is it three. Big has been told he will be playing next to Shelton this year. Rumors indicate the Cardinals will go after Villarrial for the other guard spot.

That leaves Clement, who, after a poor performance last season, has question marks next to his name. Can Clement rebound? Will he be better coached and better motivated this year? Or are AC's back injuries causing him more problems than anyone is willing to indicate? Is his contract too prohibitive to have him at backup? Does AC have any trade value in a league that rarely has starting offensive tackles available?

Wouldn't make sense to go with a sure thing?

I am sold on this and I think it fits the best player available situation to a T.

I understand those who say that is too much money for the oline. Truthfully it is even though it can be somewhat mitigated by cutting someone or trading them.

We need a DE DT WR but we also need a producing Oline.... You add this guy and it will produce. You fix an entire unit with one choice and fill out the rest through FA and the draft.

I really think that Davis will become the probowl OL we all think he can be when he moves to the left side. Davis is far more comfortable and effective on the left side since that is all he has ever played until he got here. Plus I think he was playing on an injured Ankle all year, plus he had to make up for Clements bad play. So putting Davis next to Shelton will make Shelton the prowvowl OT we all know he should be. Also with Davis playing at a pro bowl level it will make Kendall better who should be better anyways now that he really knows the C position. it just causes a domino effect along the whole oline. Plus with Shelton and Davis destroying the left side of the line Kendall would be more inclined to help out the Right side and help out the new RG who would help Clement play better if his arm and back becomes more healthy. Plus I would like to see if Wells can make the next step to starter or even the RG spot, IMO he should a lot of potential last year. But a FA RG or Rookie is needed. A guy like Stephen peterman in the 3rd would be great. He brings a really nasty attitude which is the biggest thing missing from this oline.

Anyways now that I have wrote the book above. You will understand why I will have to say no to Gallery at the #3 spot. Not only becuase of the above paragraph but becuase I really hate changing a guys position and comfort zone his first year in the league, it just seems to not work more then it does.

Re: R. Gallery

I've followed Iowa for several years now. (My Dad's from there and it gave us common-ground). Anyways, Gallery is a "gamer", and I wouldn't be disappointed at all w/the pick. He reminds me of a guy named Dierdorf. You guys might have heard of him. I still think Fitz will be there (especially now because of Williams entering) ...And if he is, I can't think of (1) good reason DG wouldn't grab him in a heartbeat. Foot~note on Gallery: I've seen him play just as hard in a game after getting pretty dinged-up. Alot of heart & desire. The only things that concerns me is, can he can transition to the (R)-side??

I would be really disappointed if the Cards take Gallery.

We have a ton of money locke up in our current OF line.

Get Manning or a WR!

The creamy Peanut Butter filling will keep you warm throughout the night. The crunchy cookie shell can be crushed up and used as bait for squireels or other small rodents to catch and eat. Or simply used to pack snake bite wounds or rubbed on poison Ivy as an itch relief medicine.

And if all else fails, no one can resist a good NUtterButter, just bribe beer away from someone with a few.
