On sundays everytime the camera is poiinting at him, he just has a dumb look on his face. Dont think I've ever seen him cheer the men after scoring or yell at anyone after a bad play. He does not coach period. No wonder why we dont make any adjustments.

Yeha so does 15 other coaches many of whom are the elite coaches. Whats your point.

Some coaches like, Romeo Crenell, and Bill Belichek rarely say a word. They do their talking at practice and not game time thats for the coordinators.

................the co-ordinators are not doing their jobs. Especially Lindsay and Rowen. It's somebodies job to let those jokers go.......hopefully in January Green will make the right decision.

I think the meaning of this thread is that we play with absolutely no urgency or emotion on the road. Can't blame Green for that, this franchise has always been that way. Guess that is why we can only sell 35,000 seats for a home game.......everytime the City sees them on TV, they play like heartless zombies.

I don't remember Tom Landry's expression ever changing in all his years on the Dallas sideline. Your point is pointless!!!

When you are winning playoff games and super bowls no need to show emotion.

Well... when the Cowboys were the joke of the league in the 60's, Landry was impassable and under control. And then, as now, there were fans who wanted him to act out of character.

After all of his years coaching, does anyone seriously think Denny is going to change his ways or that he should?

My point is he keeps to himself and is not appart of the team. He needs to offer input directly to his players and make sure we are all on the same page. Guys need to be held accountable for their mistakes and praised for when they do good. He needs to be in direct contact with the leaders on O and D. Coaching continues on sunday. This even goes back to training camp. All he did was blow his whistle every 15 min.

His style is his style, wins or losses define you nothing else.

Remember that when quoting DG's previous records and glory.

It's a what have you done for me lately league and DG's glory is fading loss after loss.

Head coaches generally dont do that. That is why they hire offensive/defenisve coordinators and postion coaches. they dont get down in 4 point stances and show DT's how to come off the ball!

ONE HEARTBEAT!!!!!

I'd like Don Coryell back with Buddy Ryan in a cage as our D coordinator.

Different level of competition...but Tom Osborne never even smiled...just sat there and chomped on his gum. The only time I ever saw him smile was when the won the whole shabang.

Every coach can't be like Chuckie or Spurrier.

I get what you are saying LV but I am not sure I agree 100% with your take. Yeah, it isn't up to the HC to be in a 4 point stance showing people how to come off a ball or even how to scheme the OL but I think the fans are allowing Green to sanitize himself too much from what we are watching. This is Dennys offensive system and as such I expect him to be heavily involved in, not only the gameplanning, but the coaching on Sundays and either he isn't or my thoughts on his ability to coach on Sundays will fall further. I keep hearing Green pimp his system and talk about the Colts running it yet the Cards O seems to actually get worse.

Strangely enough, the Cards are also employing, to a certain extent, Denny's defensive scheme and I would expect if it is Denny's scheme that is the basis for the Cards D, he would be heavily involved in the gameplanning during the week and coaching on Sundays. Not sure we are seeing that either.

Now, the natural reaction is..."well, you aren't there all week so how do you know"...but I think what we see on Sundays is a direct reflection of what is happening during the week so while I may not be there, it is a pretty safe bet that Denny, THE BOSS of this team, is not good at coaching or building a coaching staff in this day and age.

Finally, we don't see everything that happens on the sidelines but there are plenty of head coaches ahould will walk back to the bench and address a unit of the whole offense/defense when things are not going right. Plenty of coaches do that. The problem is, whenever we see the flashes of Denny, he almost looks like he is wearing the headset, not because he cares about the game he is watching, but rather he is getting ready to take an order at a drive thru window. He is who he is but for once, maybe a sideline outburst may not be the worst thing because his coaching seems bad enough to me aand when I add in the lack of obvious passion...well I guess I understand more and more why this team is playing so poorly on Sundays.

There are plenty of things to complain about regarding Green; his sideline demeanor isn't very high on the list.

I do agree that there are more coaches that are fiery and get in guys faces etc, but that isnt Green, never has been, never will be. I also agree that there are some coaches that go to the bench and talk to his players one on one. Dont know that it makes that much difference however, as good head coaches empower his oc/dc's to do that and in turn they empower their position coaches.

As far as during the week, all I can go on are all the college coaches sidelines and practices fields I have personally been on and I can tell you not one of them micro manages to a point where they are involved in the actual gameplanning for the opponent. They know the gameplan, they make suggestions and more often than not, veto ideas they dont believe will work against certain opponents. I doubt Green or many other HC's differ much.

In fact at halftime you would be suprised just how little adjustments actually go on. The OC will find 6-10 plays that worked in the first half and mark them to re run or run them out of a differnet formation. They dont completly change gameplans. The HC is only interested in the percentages and yards gained running certain plays in certain situations (run an orbit motion out of the pro set is getting us 6 yards on 1st down) and they want to keep running it.

Yes this is Greens offense and yes he is accountable for all of the decisons made (thats what HC are for) but I almost guarnatee it he doesnt set the plays, or make the script for the first drive etc. He may make suggestions, he may veto plays he thinks wont work, but as far as gameplanning that is left up to the OC/DC...
