This I love. It's been sorely lacking in past years. Let's hope the O-line can somehow come together as a unit and put in a few decent performances.

What we really do not know about the offensive line is whether it is a lack of coaching or just a lack of raw ability that can never be learned. Big is clearly our best OL. As for the rest they remain a mystery to me. When you have to resort to taking a DL and making him an OL in the NFL in mid season you know you have big problems. You can beat Big around the edge but you are not going to push him out of the way or bull rush him. I hope they consider moving him inside next year but that is just an uninformed opinion. Wakefield is doing the best he can considering what he has been asked to do. We still have a relative inexperienced center calling plays and for what ever reason we refuse to put our QB's in the gun. It think it was mentioned earlier in the season Josh was not comfortable there. If that is the case it is dam well time he learn how to get comfortable there as it gives you and extra second on two. How many of these Ol will be on the line next year? Any guesses? I would not have a clue.

Lee has dropped a few passes, and then made errors on special teams. As a veteran, these are things you can't do if you want to keep your job. Why not give give one of our rookie WRs a look if a veteran is screwing up? I like this move.

I'd also love to see Moses come back. Swinton has gotten a little better, but he hasn't played all that good to think he's a lock for the return job.

If we cut everyone on this team who makes mistakes we would not have a team. Manning looked like crap last year. They did not cut him. And of course T. Jones and G. Hearst looked like crap and we got rid of them. Jones could end up in the pro bowl the way he is running. It aint luck either as this guy can run.

The main thing in the shotgun right now is Step can't snap because of his injury so when we go shotgun we still have to rotate Step to LG and Wells to C. I suspect the coaches just figure it's better to not do that alot because it puts pressure on both guys to have to change jobs during the game?

Last year someone said Josh wasn't comfortable in the gun and then I looked online and found interviews Josh did during the Senior Bowl week where he was being asked over and over about having played in an offense at Sam Houston State that was almost exclusively in shotgun and would he be able to handle taking snaps from C(same thing with Alex Smith this year in SF you can visibly see how uncomfortable it still is for him). So I don't buy at all that Josh can't play in the gun that was offered up last year as an excuse because Step couldn't shotgun snap and someone decided to blame it on Josh instead(a coach not a poster here).

Agreed. I just don't think Warner can stand up to the amount of contact he's going to get with this OL and us throwing 40 times a game.

Warner is no wimp and will stand in there with the best of them. He did not get those championship rings running. If he gets hurt it is part of the game but a lame excuse not to play him if he says he is ready. If McCown is playing lousy pull his butt and if not let him play. No matter what McCown is not Big Ben or QB of the future. He is just what we have seen and if anyone still thinks he will be our QB of the future we are destined to continue as we have for decades. We need to set our goals a lot higher than Josh McCown for a long term QB. If we are willing to settle for him then we are in serious mental trouble.

john ,warner hasn't lasted even a half season in his last 3 seasons. The giants pulled him last year in part because they were paying Manning too much to sit, and in part because Warner was getting sacked at an ungodly rate in recent games, fumbling a lot, and they were concerned he was going to get killed.

This year he got hurt untouched trying to avoid pressure. He's a better QB than josh, but on THIS team with this OL him getting injured again is not an IF, it's a WHEN.

Nobody is saying josh is the QB of the future, but if we play him the rest of the season it's going to be a lot easier to determine if he is or not. I don't think he is, but I'd prefer to let that be decided on the field, I know for a fact Warner isn't going to be around too much longer he just can't take the hits anymore. He's not a wimp, he got beat up with the rams because Martz played a system that exposed his QB to constant hits. They scored a ton of points, but Warner is now punchdrunk as a result.

As many of the Josh supports say "play him for the rest of the season". I strongly disagree with that. This season is not about Josh or finding out about Josh. It is about winning each and every game you can. If DG thinks Josh is that guy then so be it. There are a lot of other players on this team who have a stake in winning as many games as they can as their jobs are at stake. You can bet those WR have a favorite. We just do not know who it is. DG should and I think will put the players on the field who he thinks gives him the best chance of winning. He also has other things on his mind other than the future of Josh McCown or Kurt Warner. I may not like who Green goes with and will say so but he gets paid to do it and it is no easy choice. Winning 4 is better than winning 3 from the players point of view. At the moment a badly hurting Donivan McNabb is going on to the field in pain with every throw because the coach thinks he is the best chance he has to win. If Warner is healthy enough to play and the coach determines he is our best chance to win then he plays him. He does not think maybe Kurt will get hit. It has not been many years since the crowd at Sundevil cheered when our QB went down on the field with a serious injury and Jake got to come in.

Chandler AZ.
He didn't

feel that way about the D last year. If I remember correctly the opposite was one of his reasons for changing QB's. So, that could be a clue as to who starts. It could also mean I'm completely clueless and don't know what the heck I'm talking about.

The OL needs a real line coach...
