I disgaree. He would be a very good D-coordinator.

The problem in NY was that Herm brought him in and said "Hey Ted, I know your specialty is running a 3-4, but I am implementing the cover-2"

There were articles in which Cottrell said he thought the Jets coupld play a cover-2 but they needed different talent in the secondary.

Cottrell is a master of the 3-4 and even the 4-3, and that is what he has taught and implimented his entire career. I blame Herm Edwards for his demise in NY, not Ted Cottrell.

BTW, The Jets have now said, after firing Cottrell, that they will implement a 4-3 defense. Go figure!
