How about TE Jermaine Gresham? Speaks very well of how much the players in AZ want to stay in AZ. He is going to try to have a big year so he can reset his market next year. Bears and Jets offered 4 year contracts with 'strong" commitments. I bet Carson Palmer had a great influence in this. He and Gresham have been starting to get in sync and OTAs and a whole TC this year could do wonders.

He turned down four years for $23 million with $12 million fully guaranteed from other teams because he wanted to be back in Arizona. He took less to have consistency in offense and reset his market for next year, the source said.

I really can't remember a player ever taking less money to stay or come to Arizona. Real proof that things have changed with this organization.

I imagine that Gresham much prefers having Carson Palmer as his QB than Jay Cutler or whomever the Jets' QB is going to be. It wouldn't surprise me if Keim told Gresham that if he has a big year the Cardinals would sign him to a multi-year contract in 2017. Having the OTAs, MCs and a full TC this year could make a big difference in the level of his play and the added opportunities he will have in the passing game.

I read that Carson Palmer has been keeping very close tabs on teammates he wants to see re-sign with the Cardinals---the two names that were mentioned were Jermaine Gresham and Jerraud Powers. Palmer said he was doing this on his own---it's not like the FO is asking him to do it.

I've been wondering whether the Cardinals were waiting until Monday to meet with Leon Hall because it would give Jerraud Powers some time to accept Steve Keim's offer. if Hall's contract demand are reasonable, I could see Keim signing both Powers and Hall.

First of all, the guy was rehabbing from back surgery last year which is why he wasn't signed until late July. Secondly, his blocking grades this past season were very good and unheralded, really...one of the reasons why the Cardinals were able to improve their running game. Thirdly, with all the receiving talent surrounding him in AZ, Gresham knows he has to pick his spots and deliver, but he also knows that his chances of getting open with the safeties favoring the deep pass are very high.

Yesssssssss, this is yet another milestone step for the Cards. No one has ever turned down a 4 year deal from another team to come play with the Cards, (let alone 2 of them by the same guy). Then to come back on a 1 year prove it contract speaks volumes for how this team is poised to join the 'elite' ranks of those who challenge for the SB with regularity. This is the kind of stuff that creates dynasties in the NFL. Stand by fans, this ho-hum off season is about to take on some very serious and carefully planned roster moves, each designed to fill a hole, or create super depth. Completely disagree. For a player to walk away from guaranteed millions to stay with this team is really inspiring. He wanted to be here and proved it. To me, it's a sign that this is a team that believes in its leadership and future.

Agreed Reddog, good point. Anyone brought in that is new to the system will have a learning curve learning BA's offense.

god forbid our 2nd round pick TE would be able to actually step up in his 3rd season.

happy he's back for cheap. The offense is going to be good, hopefully great again. But I'm not gonna lie, I'm worried about that D. That #5 ranking was done with some and mirrors, and feasted on bad teams while giving up huge yards/points to the best offenses in the league.

It is not how many passes one catches, it is the opportunity to catch passes in games that count which will impact his value and the Cardinals are a playoff team... he is going to have to play better though to garner a larger contract after this season with the chances he does get

I expect Niklas to be traded by draft day.Niklas gets roasted while Humphries sucks so bad he doesn`t even dress for the games,Cooper loses his job to a cheap FA signing and yet Niklas still gets roasted.Niklas caught 2 tds in one of his starts so he has flashed talent.Still trading a 23 kid would be stupid in my opinion.But I think that's what will happen.
