Suns need to ride the momentum and lay the wood to the Griz Tuesday. Anything less than a 12 point win is unacceptable.

A little soon for a gameday thread. But the true test is if we can hold Ruday Gay, Mike Miller, and that Navarro kid at bay and not let them have a field day from the outside. Otherwise, this could be an embarrasing game.

But Kwame Brown is with them, aren't we supposed to be scared? After all, Kwame Brown helped the Lakers become finals contenders :D

Kwame Brown has the best job ever. He gets paid $9 million a season to sit on the pine and watch basketball (albeit Grizzlies basketball) If im not mistaken, he only sees garbage time minutes. Then again, thats what he is: garbage.

Oh well, let's just keep it rolling. We don't want a scenario where in we beat the defending champs and got beaten up by a team who helped the Lakers :D

I said this last time we played the Griz. I dont want to lose to a team that has made it apparent that they dont care about winning by trading Pau Gasol for bits of string and shopping Mike Miller at the same time. We are a franchise that is making an effort towards the championship, and to even be pushed by this kind of team is embarassing. IT was bad enough last game when it took a late run just to put them away.

This is your classic TRAP game

:))

They did the worst trade in the NBA history maybe.I think they will trade Mike Miller as well and I have a feeling we'll want him this summer:)

Early. But the Suns need to at least win this one by 10.

Kurt Thomas and 2 unprotected first round picks for nothing was a pretty bad trade.

Agreed. The Suns need to make these players drive the ball to the basket where help is waiting. However, Gay can be really scary.

The Suns know not to take Memphis too lightly after the last game with them, and are coming off some momentum against the Spurs, so I'd expect a nice, easy win.

Those 1st rd picks could be worth 1-2 million each depending on where they fall + double them for the luxury tax (assuming we are still over it in 2008 & 2010) and we might be looking at trading Kurt Thomas for a $20 million savings. It really doesn't make it any more acceptable, but at least it's more accurate.

I hope to not see the Suns play down to the level of their competition.

Was this thread made during the Spurs game? Let's live in the now!

As long as we stop doing the stupid showing hard every single time on pick-n-roll defense, we should be fine.

In a van...down by the river.

Good point there i agree.
Drawing Shaq out into no man's land having to guard the perimeter, the baseline, and the basket is obviously a dubious situation.
On the other end, i want to see more movement from Nash,Hill, and Bell when we throw it into the post to Shaq/Amare.
Double-team or not....Shaq can find guys if they could get to some spots or slash.

Agreed, although with Thomas off the books next year when the first pick would come around, it is not as much IMO with the rising cap/lux tax numbers. And in 2010 who knows what the situation would be. It is still a dumb trade, but it was NOT give away Thomas and two picks for nothing. It seems too easy for us here to spend someone elses (in this case a GROUP'S, not one person's) money.
