Ground Hog Day

AS I am watching these games I feel like I am watching the same game over and over again. It is pathetic how this team cannot by a hit with people on base. We got a win Sunday due to outstanding pitching but it is unrealistic to expect a shutout every game.
We need to gets some more bats in teh lineup. Preferably a right handed power hitter. IS there anyone out there we can get realisticly in a trade? Is it time to call up sidewinders? Cintron, Tracy, Gordon or Terrero. I am interested in hearing others opinions. I just cant take this inept hitting

If you want to inject some offense, I am not sure you can look to Tucson for that. Bringing up players with minimal major league experience isn't a guarantee for anything. There isn't a player on the Sidewinders roster that has phenom skills that can come in and lead the offense.

If the D'backs are really serious about getting the bats to light up...maybe the could look at a trade but at this point it would be worthless. This team is in a slump and all it will take is for one guy to start hitting lights out and everybody else will catch the fever.

As much as I'd like to believe that, I must disagree, Ryanwb.

We're lacking a second legitimate middle-of-the-lineup threat to join Gonzo.

Without one, it's going to be an uphill fight all season.

With one, and with the healthy return of Johnson and Schilling, (and a solid performance by Mantei), we'd be a World Series caliber team once again.

Better hurry, Joe, Jr. The clock is ticking for our three superstars!

Matty was 0-4 today batting 5th against a right handed pitcher. I think his average is now .180 after his hot start.

This team is far from a world series team. They ahve no hitting and now 2 great old pitchers who may or may not reach their previous levels.

The pitching aside the B-backs need a right handed power hitter, they need a lead=off man with a good OBP, and they need to stop changeing the lineup every 5 minutes. They have had several players who have played well for 2 games and then Brenly rewars them by sitting them down. I don't think players get tired after 2 games or even 10 games.
the only lock is Gonzo but even he is moved between 3rd and 4th in the kine-up. He is a much bettar hitter in the 3 hole.

Just some of my thoughts.

While Randy arguably may be "old" there is nothing to indicate anything is wrong with his arm.

Curt is just 36. He's had one bad game this year - At Coors.

It amazes me how quickly people are to consign a player to the scrap heap once he's over 35. Yes a lot of players decline, but the very best more often don't.

Overbay .351 and Gonzo .345 = no hitting? I still feel we are one middle-of-the-lineup hitter away from having a very competitive batting order.

As far as Johnson and Schilling, do you really believe that they have gone from two Cy Young level pitchers to old, over the winter? Why? They're both in the best physical and mental shapes of their careers.

I agree with you there, az240zz! 22 different starting lineups in our first 25 games is simply over-managing. It's almost as if Brenly is afraid that if he trots the same lineup out there, people will think that he is not doing his job.

But people are looking at the record.

There is something to be said for everyone on your roster knowing, and being familiar with, their role. Being able to prepare mentally for whether they'll be starting or coming off the bench/relieving . . . and where they'll be in the lineup.

I had such high hopes for Bob Brenly managing the D'backs for a long time. But he's got to take off the blinders!
