Maybe it is a garbage quote, but I thought it was a winning moment.

Nah, that was a comment about my failing memory not the quote itself. It's been a long time since I've seen the movie, I can't quite place where the conversation. But I liked the "garbage" reference, just don't throw away any perfectly good white girls while you're at it.

I'm the enemy. Because I like to think, I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech, freedom of choice. I'm the kind if guy who would sit in the greasy spoon and think "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the big rack of Barbecued spare ribs with the side order of gravy fries?" I *want* high cholesterol. I want to eat bacon, butter and buckets of cheese alright? I want to smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in a non-smoking section. I wanna run around naked with green jell-o all over my body reading a Playboy magazine. Why? Because maybe I feel the need to okay pal? I've seen the future, you know what it is. It's made by a 47 year-old virgin in gray pajamas soaking in a bubble bath, drinking a broccoli milkshake and thinking "I'm an Oscar-Meyer Wiener". You wanna live on top, you gotta live Cacteau's way. What he wants, when he wants, how he wants. Your other option: come down here, maybe starve to death.

Here's the new quote"

"Let me get back to you, will ya, Charlie? I got a guy on the other line asking about some white walls."

damn... that was put on a damn Tee-Ball stand!

I thought so too, it's such a great line. I can't even read it to myself without lowering my voice and trying to match his gravelly delivery. Same with the Silverado line I used earlier in this thread.

Guess that means I am a dumb$hit for not knowing it. I remembering hearing it, but had no idea of the movie. My bad. I guess they are all easy if you know them. (Being there)

Nah, it means nothing like that. But still, it's a very popular line from a fairly popular comedy so a sizable number of people would be expected to get it. But popular or not, the movie still isn't everyone's cup of tea. And even if it is right up your alley, you wouldn't be alone in saying you'd rather waste those brain cells on something other than memorizing some stupid line from some silly old movie. Personally, I'd rather waste what little brain power I have on useless things like movie quotes but I'm not playing with a full deck anyway.

I thought about letting this one go for a day or two but I doubt anyone will remember it. It's too bad though, it's a great line from an overactor's actor, Ron Silver. As I'm sure you know, he's actually talking to his younger self when he makes that comment.

I bought the DVD in 98 or so when it first became available and watched it every day for a week but I haven't seen it since. I can only take so much full screen/pan & scan before I start going crazy. I wonder if they ever did release a decent copy of Timecop? Guess I'll check Amazon and see.
