I thought about letting this one go for a day or two but I doubt anyone will remember it. It's too bad though, it's a great line from an overactor's actor, Ron Silver. As I'm sure you know, he's actually talking to his younger self when he makes that comment.

I bought the DVD in 98 or so when it first became available and watched it every day for a week but I haven't seen it since. I can only take so much full screen/pan & scan before I start going crazy. I wonder if they ever did release a decent copy of Timecop? Guess I'll check Amazon and see.
I'm amazed you got it so quickly. I was thinking of using this movie in the screenshot thread, but thought I'd use it here. Good job! You're up.

movie quote guessing thread 2016. Major characters thrived but supporting cast was mostly a failure. It was still entertaining though.

It's probably because I already had my mind on a Van Damme quote. I've got the TV on Sundance right now and it's showing Kickboxer, one of his earlier starring roles. I had just decided my next quote was going to be from Sudden Impact when you posted yours. Now I don't know what to use.

Sudden Impact? You mean Double Impact? "There's TWO of them!"

Yeah, I screwed up but no, I actually meant Sudden Death. I don't remember any good quotes from Double Impact but SD has some decent macho scenes that would provide quality quote material.

I heard that movie wasn't very good. Never saw it, so I won't say what it is after googling it. :)

It's fairly recent and we've already watched it 20 some times. Obviously I can't agree with the "wasn't very good" description but I'm just a movie fan not a film critic. We just finished re-watching the LoTR series and have now started in on the Harry Potter flicks. When we finish them, we're going to re-watch the first 3 Bourne movies followed by the Renner Bourne and then we'll be ready to watch Stoner Bourne again. In case you didn't know, that's what this movie is often called.

Thank you, heretofore I was ashamed to admit I watched all 8 seasons of 24 twice in about a 2 year span...

Can I come over & watch these movies with you? My wife doesn't like the action/sci fi flicks. I of course love them & watch movies like Bourne & HP several times. :)

My wife actually likes a lot of these movies at least as much as I do. In fact, she's the driving force for HP and LoTR viewings at our house. I'm more of a Bourne fan than she is but she's maybe the number one world-wide fan of Renner's Bourne.

We started going to movies together more than 43 years ago with me picking an action type movie and then her usually picking a romance or a comedy. Along the way I became a big fan of romantic comedies and she became a big fan of action and sci-fi. I think it's one of the advantages of marrying at 18 and pretty much growing up together (well, mostly me growing up).

Okay, judging from the lack of an answer I'm guessing there aren't a lot of American Ultra fans here? That's too bad, it's a very entertaining action comedy. And Topher Grace is fantastic in it, that's the kind of role he should re-visit often.

So, here's a new quote.

"You're too good for me, George. You're a hundred times too good. And I'd make you most unhappy, most. That is, I'd do my best to."

You're posting tough ones for this board. But I always like a good Katie Hepburn quote.

Other than maybe Serial, I've tried to use nothing but movies I was confident were well known around here. But since we weren't having much luck there I figured maybe I'd do better with a well known line from a well known classic. Guess I figured wrong. And yes, it's a Hepburn line from Philadelphia Story.

I guess that wasn't an official guess by Chap so here's some quotes that my wife and I used conversationally in the past week. All from the same wonderfully quotable movie.

I'll alert the Media.

Steal something casual.

Thank you for a memorable afternoon. Usually one must go to a bowling alley to meet a woman of your stature.

(to a prostitute that lost her mother at 6 and was raped by her dad at 12) So you had 6 relatively good years?

I race cars, play tennis and fondle women. Buuut! I have weekends off and I am my own boss.

You're a hooker? ... I just thought I was doing great with you.

It's terribly small, tiny little country. Rhode Island could beat the crap out of it in a war. That's how small it is.

I have brought you orange juice, coffee and aspirins. Or would you rather throw up?

Yes, bathing is such a lonely business.

Sometimes I just think funny things.

I wish I had a dime for every dime I had.

Good luck in prison.

You obviously have a wonderful economy of words.

Have you seen a doctor? --- (reply) Yes and he has seen me.

That's what I live for.

(female) A real woman could keep you from drinking. (male response) It would have to be a REAL BIG woman.

Perhaps you'd like me to come in there and wash your dick for you, you little (....)

She's really quite beautiful when the light hits her in a certain way. Of course you can't depend on that light.

You could probably show me the whole movie without the credits and I still wouldn't know the answer!!

I came pretty close to giving you the whole movie there:). IMO it is truly one of the funniest movies ever made. I don't know how it would hold up today but I'm sure it would still make people laugh.

I haven't seen American Ultra but it's definitely one I will watch when I get the chance.

If you like action movies you should really enjoy it. It might take 10 minutes or so before it wins you over but it's a lot of fun IMO.
