Oh wow, that's one of those rare movies that I watched, mostly enjoyed, but then completely forgot about. I remember a few of the cast members, most notably the 5th Element (plus the guy pictured along with the girl from The Glades) but I can't think of the title. Something like Island Getaway or Island Holiday I think. Oddly enough, I remember that it reminded me of Shoot To Kill in the way they used the setting and the manner in which the action unfolded plus the way it kept me guessing as to who was/were the bad guy(s).

If you can come up with the Perfect word to describe this Getaway, you've got it. Just watched it again when it was on TV the other night.

Shoot to Kill. One of my favorites.

Yeah, Shoot to Kill is great. And even now it's still a very easy re-watch. But I must be getting old, I could have sworn this movie had "Island" or "Tropical" or something like that in the title.

Fun movie about a guy who simply went out for a pack of cigarettes.

I don't know this movie, had to look it up. When someone solves it, how about giving us a sales pitch on why it's worth watching? I really like the cast so I'm somewhat interested although the reviews don't make it sound very appealing.

I only remember it because one of the actors was a certain singer from the 80s, who was an expert at giving the news.

I know of whom you speak, he was the helicopter pilot in Sphere and his clone was one of the gang in Die Hard. And he did the soundtrack for the first BttF movie IIRC. His album "Sports" was the last one we bought on cassette, we went to CD shortly afterwards.

I think that makes you next, you nailed the fact that we all gave up. Congrats, and take it away.

BTW, a look-up reveals the movie is called "Duets", if that helps.

Awesome, but isn't that rewarding ignorance?

Lol

OK hold on I will put one up

OK we give up.
Ok, the movie was called "Duets". I think it came out in about 2005. Its about competitive karaoke and stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Paul Giamatti, Huey Lewis and Andre Braugher. Paul Giamatti is this mild mannered guy who's just going through the motions in life and gets a wild hair and takes off and discovers he's another person when singing karaoke. As a fairly conservative, usually introverted guy I can relate. I love karaoke, taking part in it myself and watching others. It didn't get great reviews, but I thought it was a fun movie. I saw it on netflix, but that was back in the day when they sent dvds in the mail..don't know if its streaming or not.

Tough one--I know the actor, but while I've heard of the movie, I've never seen it.

You really gotta see this one

The way they unfolded the story and left you in suspense on who this character is how he got where he started and what the hell happened to him keeps you dialed in. I haven't seen a movie like this before but my son and I watched it this summer and it was pretty awesome

OK, I am resorting to giving hints here. The first word in the title is a city in France. The second word in the title is one of the United States.

OK, that did it, Paris Texas. It was a good movie, I just couldn't think of the title until you gave the hints.

I have not played for a while and do not want to go through 72 pages to see what has been posted, so hope this is not a duplicate. Here is the first movie I took my wife to (not much of a hint).
