Above list has been shot down. :thumbdown

"Activision and Red Octane have made it known that the list, which included artists like Tool and The Doors, is a fake. A representative informed Game Informer ... while some of the songs on the list will make it into the game, namely Van Halen's "Hot for Teacher," the majority of the list is 'wishful thinking and pure speculation'."

Figured. If there are 3 artists I'd never expect to see on these games it would be the Beatles, Elvis, and MJ. This saddens me.

Like Ozzy Osbourne? So does Guitar Hero. Ozzy will be a playable character in the game, with "Crazy Train" and "Mr. Crowley" on the set list. Zakk Wylde is also a playable character, bringing along Black Label Society's "Stillborn."

Other songs listed:

Metallica - "Trapped Under Ice"
System of a Down - "BYOB"
Airbourne – "Too Much Too young…"
At the Drive-in – "One Armed Scissor"
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club – "Weapon of Choice"
Bob Seger – "Hollywood Nights"
Dinosaur Jr. – "Feel the pain"
Silversun Pickups – "Lazy Eye"
Survivor – "Eye of the Tiger"
Billy Idol – "Rebel Yell"
Blink 182 – "Dammit"
Foo Fighters – "Everlong"
Jimi Hendrix – "Purple Haze Live"
Jimi Hendrix – "Wind Cries Mary"
Linkin Park – "What I've Done"
Paramore – "Misery Business"
Sublime – "Santeria"
The Doors – "Love Me Two times"
The Eagles – "Hotel California"
Van Halen – "Hot for Teacher"

I played it for a good 6 or 7 hours on Saturday. Overall I like Rock Band better than Guitar hero.

Crazy Train kicked my ass on Expert (only played it one time)
Beat it was awesome.
Hendrix (Wind Cries..) was boring.

I do like the fact that if one of your band members fail in guitar hero, the rest of the band can keep you alive if they are really playing well.

I don't like that you can't change mic settings on the fly like you can in Rock Band 2.

I downloaded the 'Bubble Bobble' theme that someone created and it is awesome. I haven't played it yet.

Did you buy the new instruments? How are they? (I saw only broken ones at Best Buy :|)

How does the singing interface compare with RB?

Are you creating your own tunes yet?

Thanks for the update BTW.

Well....

I have the wireless guitar that comes with the Guitar Hero bundle. It has a new neck slider but I have not used it yet. It also has a star power button that is perpendicular to the strum that you can use for activating the star power. If you are holding the guitar normally, it is very close to where the center of your palm would be. It makes it very easy to activate it that way. I still prefer tilting the guitar though.

I do not have the drums, and I am not sure if I will.

The singing interface has an interface that is close to Rock Band's. (scrolling) They also have a static interface that closely resembles a karaoke setup where they have an entire line of text and the words are highlighted as you sing them, and you can see the next line of words before you sing them. I prefer the scrolling text.

I don't have the time, patience, or the skill to create my own tunes. I'd rather just play everyone else's.

Why do you like RB2 better than GHWT?

I like the 'feel' of it better. It is easier to know when you are in overdrive/star power in RB vs. GH. I like the way the notes scroll across the screen better. I like that there are solos in RB.

I like the GH setlist a bit more than RB, but the RB downloadable content obviously kills GH.

I don't like that in GH you can't tell how good you're doing while singing, other than your "meter". In RB, it tells you after every line "Awesome" "Good" "Okay" or whatever. I had some songs where my meter never went down any (which is good...seems like it's harder to fail in GH) but at the end of the song I had only hit 75% or less.

That's another good point. The meter to tell how you are doing is so far out of the way, that if you are playing bass you might never take a look at it.

I downloaded Jessie's girl a few days ago. I forgot how much I love that song until I played it again.
