Don't believe we ever had a team so good that it will be truly gut-wrenching to lose another game this year. Every play will put us on the edge of sanity. This is new territory for us Cards fans. Usually just making the playoffs or going as far as we could we be fine. But now, the nerves will be on edge like never before. Anything less than winning it all will hurt like no other. Better buy lots of Kleenex next week just in case.

It's true. This team has been so good this year a loss in the playoffs would be very hard to accept. They better bring their best from now on. They are too good to show up flat and get beat.

There was a time when I can remember wishing the Cards were one of those teams that were always in the playoff conversation...teams like Dallas, the Skins and the Steelers. Yes, that would hgave been enough for me. Of course, that was before modern-day free agency and teams could stay on top for a long time.

Now you have such a small window of opportunity to put it all together, it makes us nuts, and yes we hang on every play. I love it and hate it at the same time. Still...great days to be a Cards fan...:)

The loss in the Super Bowl, the loss against the Redskin in '84... that was gut wrenching, so yes I know how that feels :)

I was thinking very much the same thing recently. Now I'm not sure if the loss will hurt more then any other. I hope not to find out. :)

I was level headed in 08 about our team until Fitz's scored late in the fourth. I thought after that it was meant to be. I hope to never feel like that again. I still get the point the OP is making. We're headed into new ground.

Good post. The expectations are really high, especially for hardcore Cards fans, I'm not sure they've ever been higher. I'm already nervous and have been since it became obvious we'd make the playoffs.

I want this team to win it all. BA and Palmer only have so much tread left on the tires, that's what worries me so much and makes me nervous, because I know the window is more than half closed and almost shut. If they were both young I'd be all chill about it, but they don't have much time left and then we rebuild/retool the team.
