The team is. But tonight's game plan was no different.

Look at it this way. BA probably wanted to run the ball more. He also wanted to take some shots deep to try and score on them.

The run game was getting 1.5 yards per carry. Not enough to get 1st downs. The long passing game had a couple of good completions, and about three more drops or missed connections. Not good enough to score.

The really bad thing was Lindley's short passing game was atrocious. Not enough completions to even get Cam Chansellor out of the box to pass cover. With 8 in the box, no run possible. With Lindley, no pass possible. Thus, no sustained drives, no rest for the defense, no hope for anyone. The team tanked late in the game. That happens when things stack up like this.

Lindley reportedly had been doing very well in practice during the week, as three or four different players said so, as well as BA. This did not transfer to the game. Bad news all around for the Cards.

This might have looked like a Whiz era loss, because it is just like what Lindley brought to the table for Whiz, (who threw him and all the other QB's to the wolves).

This will pass. We will get more, and better QB's than we had against Seattle, and this team will rebound. Whiz's teams couldn't do that. The worst we can finish is 11-5. No Whiz team ever did that. We might even finish 12-4. No Whiz team will EVER do that. It was one game against the current NFL Champions. Let it go. It will get better.

On paper we should be 5-10 right now...5-11 after this weekend. Instead, we still could get the first seed. It has been a fun year and I can't believe how far this TEAM has come. In my 34 years as a fan...this has been one of the best. Not pretty at all...but fun.
