Not too big of a deal as they grabbed some of those picks by trading down. One of the picks was from the Tony Scheffler trade, which is kind of crazy.

Yeah I cannot believe what they gave up for Tebow. That is funny as hell.

I think in the long run this will be a good deal for Denver. They got a solid WR to replace Marshall and got a QBOF. Basically they turned the #11 and Marshall into Tebow and Thomas. Apparently the Bills were trying to trade up to get Tebow while the Ravens were on the clock as well. If they really think he is "their guy" I think that it was more than worth it to give up those picks.

They still have another 2nd and 3rd I believe. So rather than taking a WR at 11 and not taking a QB at all, they managed to take another WR later, the QB they wanted, and still leave with the same number of picks they had going in.

Turn 1 first round pick into two without actually giving up anything is what they just did. And they got the people they wanted. Sure it looks bad but when you realize what they did it isn't that bad.

The Teblow trade will get Josh fired!!!

Prisco agrees;

Broncos' McDaniels can kiss job goodbye with Tebow pick

Denver Broncos coach Josh McDaniels should enjoy the next year or two in Denver. Really. Soak all of it in. Enjoy being a head coach. Enjoy making all the decisions.

Your days are numbered.

When you trade away Jay Cutler, Brandon Marshall and Tony Scheffler, the key components in the Broncos passing game in a year span, and then draft Tim Tebow in the first round of the draft, you are sending a loud message.

Talent doesn't matter.

Character does.

Why not pick the altar boys from the parish down the street? Aren't they good kids? Or maybe you can pick all the "A" students in this draft?

It doesn't matter if they can play. Just make sure they are good "yes men."

It just doesn't make any sense.

I understand a coach wanting to have good character guys, but this is going past that.

Tebow is a fifth-round talent.

First round?

Nobody in their right mind would ever say that Tebow plays the position better than Cutler. But Cutler was shipped out for being a bad boy.

Now they have Saint Timmy to fix things.

Here's a bet: He doesn't even beat out Brady Quinn.

He makes Quinn and Kyle Orton, the other quarterback, look like John Elway.

Tebow is raw. He doesn't understand the passing game. He doesn't read defenses.

Oh, but he's a good kid.

At least he'll save the locker room.

Really? If you aren't playing, character doesn't matter. The NFL is a cruel business. His rah-rah crap doesn't matter. They won't listen. They won't stand for it.

Crying after losses?

Yeah, right.

Does he work hard? Yes. Does he want to be good? Yes.

But the skills aren't there. He isn't close to being as good as Jimmy Clausen. Too bad for Jimmy he doesn't have the character Tebow has, at least that's what they say.

The Broncos reached big time for Tebow. But look at the bright side: At least he won't be running the streets.

He also won't be starting anytime soon -- if ever.

And Josh McDaniels will lose his job in a year or two over this one and his other moves over the past year.

Josh is doing a good enough job of that himself save 5 games last season.

i thought the first trade to move up for the WR was almost as stupid. They had the kid if they stayed put.

A total of 4 picks plus about $10 mil guaranteed money for someone who might not even have the skill set to be an NFL QB

The Broncos may have overpaid a little, but it was not as outragous as say what they did last year giving up their unprotected #1 for a below average CB...

According to the Trade vaule chart the #25 pick is worth 720 points... The #43. #70, #114 are worth 780... so basically they should have givin up a 5th or 6th round pick instead of a 4th, but that was the price they paid to make sure they got their guy...

In the end, Tebow may not be Elway, but I don't know what to make of him, other than an interesting prospect that can be potentially used in a variety of ways..

I have a suspecison that we will look back in 12 years and may say Tim Tebow is a good football player, thats it, just a solid player...

Just my opinion...

Oh bro, it doesn't matter where they GOT the picks from. They had them, and they USED them to MOVE UP in the FIRST ROUND to draft TIM FREAKING TEBOW before the Cards picked, why, who effing knows, and then DRAFTED HIM FOR REALS...AND THEN GAVE ALL THOSE MOTHEREFFING PICKS AWAY!!!

Yeah, I dig tebow..i like his moxy. But he's a terrible QB. TERRIBLE. He's a great Hback. When we start using hbacks in this game for more that ******* plays, let me know. I'll put tebow on my bench in a fantasy league then.

Yes it does.. Believe me.. One of my best friends is in Denver and he was cussing it all out the whole time knowing McDaniels was gonna use them on Tebow.. He's not a happy camper tonite.. Imagine if it was the Cards that did this.. You dont have to try too hard as we have done stupid **** like this in the past.. This was dumb.. Broncos became the raiders today in terms of bone headed Al Davis draft moves..

From what I have heard/seen its hard to tell if the Broncos fans like the deal or not for every 3 bad things I read there are 7 good things, followed by another 6 bad things. Id say its 50/50. Im not mad about tho I am kind of surprised.

I guess I should have made the numbers add up.. DOH:bang:

also the "fifty fifty" references percentages

50/50 in fractional form = 1

so it's kinda funny when you describe a 7/16 (or 9/16) thing as a 50/50 thing

but then again i lived with a bunch of engineering students in college so my idea of funny is most definitely skewed :D
