Denny's last year where we ended up switching up the o-line a lot did end with Reggie Wells playing solid RT with Leinart under center. There was actually a decent amount of dissent on these boards when Whiz/Grimm chose to move him to LG when it was felt like we had a couple o-line positions figured out (Lutui and Wells). Could be that Hadnot goes to LG lining up next to Levi bringing us that power running side and Wells returns to RT where he played well next to Lutui protecting Leinart's blindside.

That's a thought...

Interesting idea, I remember many of us thinking Wells was a better tackle than guard. I wonder if they'll experiment with this at all.

It will have been a long time since I have seen the Cardinals have to cut a good player because of their depth at a specific unit. We could be close this year with the offensive line players that we are collecting, and also at linebacker if we draft more than one.

I also like versatility that Hadnot brings. Good teams are filled with players like him.

We now have 5 lineman who are at least dual purpose: Brown (RT-LT) - Wells (guard-tackle) - Hadnot (guard-centre) - Bridges (guard-tackle) - Johnson (tackle-guard) - Keith (tackle-guard)

Did the Cardinals bring in Hadnot as a precurser to Anderson? I would be happy with DA as the backup to ML...

Who the heck do you think hired Whiz? Come on. Who do you think had a part in drafting Boldin, Fitz, Dansby, Dockett, and Wilson? Give the guy credit. He's made mistakes, but he is also not some doof like you guys routinely make him out to be.

Yeah the same RG that traded down to take the combo of Bryant Johnson/Pace instead of the local hero in Terrell Suggs. This teams draft fortunes didn't change until Green, Wiz & Steve Kiem came aboard. When you put together the past drafts & his slow moving philosphy in free agency (until now because Wiz has alot of say), Graves is an average GM.

It should be noted that Graves wanted Mike Sherman over Whisenhunt

9 teams passed on Suggs in that draft, and we didn't select him because he was not a 4-3 defensive end... as time has clearly shown. And, we had a coach at the time who was also part of buying the groceries, so I don't know how that all falls on Graves.

PS: I wouldn't mind having Calvin Pace on this team today... and I think most would agree.

Actually Graves was rumored to be in favor of Ron Rivera thinking the Cards needed a defensive minded coach. Bill Bidwill wanted Sherman but reports were that Sherman wanted too much money.

Inside rumor has it that Tyke Tolbert, after an impassioned plea, finally convinced the Bidwills to hire Whisenhunt. ;)

Is there a source? I've heard this repeated several times on here but it has never been backed by anything except the "rumour has it" source.

Just reports by some writers back in '07. You can do an advanced search here and find 2-3 threads on the coaching search and hiring that include quotes alluding to Graves favoring Rivera.
