She fell off the top bleachers? I couldn't hear her words most of the performance? I wanted it to be better- my friend called it trash, I never defended it, It had alot of Glimmer and hype, and her voice needed it, Her dance was unique and interesting, that Egyption style was the best part of the show.

the more talent you have the less " hot rod" talk you need in the huddle, as Eli put it!

It was certainly better than the crapfests the NFL has given us for the last four years. One thing I will give Madonna is that she knows how to produce cool live shows even though she is a terrible singer.

The visual end of the production was outstanding, but I thought that the audio part of the program was horrendous. I had to turn my tv up a lot to be able to hear the words and the instrumental was way too loud in comparison to the vocal mix. Finally toward the end the audio finally started to improve but I thought it was horrendous at the beginning.

The Tom Petty show a few years ago is probably my favorite from the past 10 years or so. Last years show was probably the worst.

I haven't listed to Madonna in 20 years. While it was an impressive show to stage in the time alloted, I don't think I've been missing much.

I wasn't wild about the music but the production was really good and I thought the dancers were fantastic.
That's pretty much "it" - professional, good choreography (but not my musical cup of tea).

Made me wish nostalgically that - when the SB is back in Glendale, they dedicate the halftime show to American Musical Roots and give the fans 30 minutes of genuine ass-kicking hard-core blues, bluegrass and jazz.

Let the music carry the show.

didnt watch. No interest in 80s pop queens doing live shows.

Glad I avoided after hearing she lip sung.

Pointless.

the only part you contribute is the singing, at least do it.

I am not a big Prince fan, but I still think his performance was the best ever. Madonna was okay. Hate the lip-synching, but she put on an okay show.

I still maintain that she was an awkward choice at best for the halftime show, however.

As for the middle finger incident, I love that critics are calling out NBC and the NFL for it. Why not just call out the performer?

My wife is pissed that we got Bruce in Tampa. She said this would have been 100 times better.

the "spectacle" of it was great

Madonna looked as good as she has in 20 years

I was predisposed to not like it, and i thought it was well done

Perfectly stated...

I would add that (not ashamed to admit this) I've been to 4 Madonna concerts (all in the 1980's). Last night, while she looked great, she moved like my grandmother. She looked slow, awkward, off-balance... Just the wrong choice really to have a 53 year old FORMER pop star up on stage to try to be what she once was... I thought it was pretty bad.
As for the production - sure, it was solid... Just like every Madonna concert is. She always, always puts on a great production.
In terms of quality of her performance however, pretty darn putrid...

Wow! I'm surprised by all the positive reactions here. To me, it a close 2nd to last years Black Eyed Peas debacle as the worst 12 mins of crap I've ever been subjected to. Simply awful.

Then again, I thought Madonna's music was crap back in the '80s and I think it's still crap now, so...

Cee Lo and Madonna on stage together blew my mind in a freakish sort of way. Could have done without ****** 1 and ****** 2 in Nicki Minaj and MIA.

I liked how at the end of "Like a Prayer", with all it's religious overtones, she dropped/descended through the bottom of the stage. It was as if she went straight to hell.:D

I didn't really dig her at all until "Like a Prayer" at the end and even then she tried to blow it by having that spasm on her knees

she was just off, IMO ... stumbling everywhere, couldn't move well at all

however, the A/V production was stunning

IMO, the show was a lot better than the performance

The MIA incident guarantees 1 thing: we will have 4 or more years of "safe" halftime shows yet again. To the NFL, that means aging rockers.

My guess at the next 4 years:

Journey
Bon Jovi
Phil Collins
Eric Clapton

Of course, Year 5 will be a seemingly safe pick in Taylor Swift. But a wardrobe malfunction will occur when surprise guest Justin Bieber rips his pants, starting the whole cycle all over again.

Change the malfunction to swift and I am happy. I will take those 4 for halftime over crap like madonna daily and would love to malfunction swift.

You might want to switch the order around a bit. By the time his turn comes up, Eric will be in his 70's.
