Anyone watching the Replay of the 1996 game against Washington? They are replaying it on FSN-AZ right now, such a freaking great game. I was there but have never seen it on TV. Man, flashback city.

I dropped a note on Roque about it, and he was still complaining about that illegal man downfield penalty in the first half of that game. LOL

Crazy man, Washington just scored again (in the replay) to make it 42-42.

I remember being in the crowd when it was 21-42 thinking it was OVER and the crowd was just partying like we had won. I also remember everyone just sitting down STUNNED about 10 mins later...

Ofcourse, we know how all that worked out in the end. :)

Having been at that Rose Bowl I can say with 100% certainty that it was ASU's crappy secondary and not any sort of prevent defense that led to the loss. I believe there was at least two pass interference penalties called on that last drive and they gave up a 80 yard TD reception earlier in the game. And on the other side of the ball Shawn Springs basically shut out Keith Poole.

For whatever reason ASU just always seem to have bad secondary play. I guess it's their thing like UA with quarterbacks.

I was neutral. As what is usually the case in these parts we have a split family in the rivalry so when we happened to be in California for the holidays everyone went to the game. Helluva game though. I feel bad for my brother who is a huge ASU guy and had to sit thru that and the Cards Super Bowl which was essentially the same game. deep down he knows that opportunities like that rarely happen again if ever.

And lord knows I won't ever get to cheer my boys on in the Rose Bowl so might as well get one in.

Yeah, we have a 4/2 split in our house, in college I was definitely more focused on the rivalry aspect, but I've become more sympathetic to the Cats, and mostly want to see the state do well. (Although ******* fans make it tough, which is probably true from both sides of the coin)

Mao your example of the Cards came is right on the money. The saddest thing for me about the Super Bowl is that my son now knew what it felt like since he was just a baby in 96.
