Has talked to Kansas City, Seattle, Arizona, Atlanta, Cleveland, and Cincinnati.
Wants to be on a team with a bunch of guys that want to come to work and win.

Says his agent is working on some things......hopes he'll have something worked out within the next day or so.

Disappointed that Arizona went with Orlando Huff.

Thinks Marvin Lewis is a great coach.

Really impressed with the Atlanta Falcons. Thinks the owner is "top of the line."

Emphasized that deal should be done tomorrow.

We only gave him what, 2 weeks to sign here.

Yeah, no doubt. We waited plenty of time for Eddie to make up his mind.

Isn't it awesome that enough players want to come here now that we can sign the ones who will sign quickly, and forget about the ones who won't? No more Brock Marion situations. :D

It's probably just me, but I would give Hill a deadline to resign at this point.

When asked about Arizona, Hartwell sounded disappointed and sounded like he knew he screwed up a good thing down here. He did say some teams didn't want to be patient, but Ed, the NFL is not a patient business. It's not like he was a complete necessity here, but would have fit in quite well. He only has himself to blame for this and he knows it.

While I would have preferred Edge, the Cards were right in moving on-- they had to have assumed that their offer, either formal or informal, was being shopped around by Hartwell to leverage a better one.

This will pay off in the long run.

Hill better figure out that he needs to sign while there is still an offer. The only problem is that the Cards havent brought in an alternative -- even if it is Kelly Herndon.

If he really wanted to get here, and we moved on Huff too fast, I am disappointed. I just don't see what Huff adds, that someone else released couldn't add. Hartwell would have provided an extreme need on the team, someone who is a stout run stuffer, something we were terrible at last year, and a problem we haven't done anything to improve. Scary stuff.

I got a feeling if he came back to us with the right numbers, we'd sign him

Huff's contract isn't big at all. I doubt it's big enough to keep them from signing another LB.

That's what I was thinking, but we're being wishful again.

disappointed???

Ed's disappointed? Well, so are we --- really we are he would have been
could have been but never was in the cards.

We will win without him but it would have made things alot easier...I'm sure Huff,Hayes and Darling will all do a fine job but here is my question, If we trade Ray Thompson who is our other linebackers going to be????

Yup. Wishful thinking. I was thinking along the same lines.

Depending on cap pluses/minuses, I could see the Cards (a) reviewing the bidding and (b) deciding to use Huff as a special team specialist and backup LB versatile enough to play inside or outside, (c) possibly moving Hayes outside (d) releasing Joe or even Hayes, Darling or Woods (if Green felt the moves would net out a "plus") and (e) adding Hartwell.

Nahhh!

NFL | Hartwell Choosing Between Three Teams - from www.KFFL.com
Thu, 17 Mar 2005 06:54:24 -0800

According to Mike Sando, of the Tacoma News Tribune, free agent LB Ed Hartwell's (Ravens) agent said he plans to choose between three teams.

My guess is Atlanta, Seattle or Cinci
I think he'll be a Bengal...I would love to have him but it's clear the Cards went another direction.
