i've never been big on harvin
the guy is way too in love with himself, loves to talk way too much, has injury concerns, runs poor routes relying mainly on athleticism, plays in an offense that can stretch it out in many ways and for a QB who can buy time for him to just naturally lose his guy
i don't think he has the discipline or smarts to make it in the NFL - he won't be able to just outrun people, he could double his work effort and still fall short (which is bad because in his mind he's working harder than he ever has, but it would still be short of NFL standards)
he's going to be challenged, going to be hit, going to lose games, going to have a QB who has to get the ball there in a hurry or get killed
i just don't see him making the transition - i think he's easily one of the more toxic name picks
i'm a much bigger fan of hakeem nicks - harvin ran his mouth all the way up to the Miami game and caught like one pass - nicks went to miami and caught 5 balls for 133 yards and a TD
both did well in their bowl games, but nicks did much better ..... nicks caught 6 or more balls in 6 of 13 games - harvin broke that barrier twice
big play ability?
in 3 years nicks averaged 17ypc, 13ypc & 18 ypc - harvin went 13, 15, 16
harvin had 13 TDs in 3 years - nicks caught 12 last year - nicks also matches him with long play ability
