yup, that is what happens...be it they ship them off or the players embark on their own
Well some of those teams reach the playoffs - and even the Super Bowl.

I'm not saying the Cards' FO has been perfect (far from it) but a lot of what they do - and how well things turn out - have a lot to do with probalities and odds & not certainty.

We play the percentages, roll the dice, take our best shot and hope the odds work in our favor. (Sometimes, in the short-run, we seem to be snake-bit and more than a bit numb-nutted). But in the long run, I think things come out better than they do not. (Over the past decade, I think the franchise is better now than it was then).

It is, however, fair for fans to expect better from the FO; but I'm not sure who we could bring in who'd be better. Nor am I ready to throw our current guys out onto the street.

I'd rather we keep doing what we're doing, try to do it better each day and hope the odds work out for us.

Over the past decade, I think the franchise is better now than it was then).

The last 12 years we have a couple of Division titles and an NFC Championship and.... 10 seasons of .500 or worse. That is better than no titles, one Wildcard round win, Buddy Ryan, Dave McGinnis and 9 seasons of .500 or worse.

But, for the first time since 1994 the Cards have what looks like a killer Defense. That alone is reason to be excited about this fall.

Plus we have Double Duece at QB. A guy who somehow, with Defense and Special teams only scoring 14 points, managed to find a way to score 3 to 4 more points than our opponents, 6 times in 8 games.

That is what happens when you develop a plan and make it happen. ... Indy's plan was to suck for Luck.
I don't believe this for a second. If you're conceeding that Manning is one of the best QBs ever to walk the planet, then losing him suddenly combined with an aging roster=crappy team. It's really, really hard to believe that an entire team of football players, a staff of coaches and ownership got behind tanking an entire season.

IMO, Manning is simply that good--especially when the ENTIRE offense began and ended with him.

You would like to think that way but when you see that the NBA had to institute a draft lottery to keep teams from tanking games to improve their draft position, an NFL coach get suspended for a year for allowing a bounty system, another NFL coach losing a first round draft pick and getting fined a half million dollars for spying on other teams and an NBA referee allegedly fixing games for gamblers or just for fun or to keep scores close you have to wonder.

We still have the draft. Also the continued development of young players and Ryan Williams, Greg Toler and Dan Williams coming back from injury. Kolb/Skelton knowing the system a little better and having more timing with the WRs. Acho starting from week 1 instead of Porter.

We could be better for doing nothing. Who knows at this point.

This conspiracy might have legs if they had not fired all their coaches and front office people. But I have a hard time buying they talked Caldwell and Polian into deliberately tanking the season, then fired them after the job was done... and no one said a word about the plot.

man we are not losing ground we already gained, We are not going backwards! yes that is a win in your grandson's NFL!

of course we always sign over their prime players like Porter and Faneca late in Free Agency, losing Marshall kind of sucked, but getting Toler back I hope?

A healthy Beanie Wells is te key to our 2012 season and beyond, A healthy RWILL will put us over the top, and I am not against Trent Richardson if he is BPA at #13!

The trend of running against pass defenses has alreasdy started, New York just won their 2nd SB doing it. TEBOW knocked it out of the park sunning 4 to 1 passing. Time to get ahead of the curve.

49ers improved greatly and so have the seahawks although not as great while we have not changed much so to say we have a playoff caliber team is a bit crazy. We will be just good enough to sniff .500 which is par for the course with whiz.

top end skills players

I would put PP and Fitz up against top players on any team, I am not of the school that an elite QB is needed to win! Eli is a better field general, shares the ball and the glory, aint scared of trusting a defense and winning as a team,
He has 2 SB's.

We need to run the ball it would take the pressure off the Oline, Defense and Special teams and make Fitz even more spectacular. I am confident if our run attempts were within NFL normal range, We would have won the division in 2010 with crap QB's. The Niners did exactly what I'm talking about with less talebnt and choked our division and the NFC last year.

The Niners are not more talented, the run game gives less turnovers, and rst the defense! Our defense gets like 2-3 long drives each YEAR! for 5 years. Thats on the playcalller and the HC or the one and the same.

Not saying we will get better but we could. Just like we could get worse by making changes. That's the nature of the NFL. If you don't realize that by now you haven't been paying much attention.

Why have the Niners improved greatly? Manningham looked pretty bad last year, and that was with a QB much better than Alex Smith. And I think Moss is more likely to be released before the season starts than to have a positive impact at any point during the in a Niner uniform.

I think the Niners will crash back to earth like a meteor this year. They got freakishly lucky in 50/50 situations, they stayed freakishly healthy, Frank Gore is long overdue for his wheels coming off.

My prediction.

2011 Niners = 1998 Atlanta Falcons

The turnover ratio in favour of the Niners last season is not likely to be repeated.

The Niners offense will probably show it's true colors next year but that defense is still scary good. Not to mention young and still improving. They may do worse record wise but I still don't look forward to playing them with Kolb/Skelton back there.

Heres our developement thus far:

RG Adam Snyder - this is a wash. Hes not any better or worse than Deuce/Hadnot

PP has 1 year experience - this is significant

Ryan Williams returning - will have minimal impact. Will be another year until hes fully healed.

Acho/OBS supposed starters - will be better than having the retirement home LB corps

Feely/Deuce resigned - great resign but not improved team

Toler returns - He will be better than Jefferson. This is important

Thats about it. All in all, our CB corps got better. However, it also got weaker with the loss of Marshall, and so this may be a wash.

the important thing to realize is it doesnt matter how much we do or do not improve, its how much our opponents have. 49ers, Seattle and ST.L have grown exponetially this offseason. Rams are on the verge of a massive talent acquisition through the draft in the next 2 years. Seems like the 49ers signed every FA WR there was out there. Plus they kept that defense intact. Seattle went and got a QB. It doesnt matter if hes great or not, hes better than Jackson and therefore they got better.

we need to have a huge draft to make up the ground. At the moment we are way behind the 8 ball. Our division has gotten way better while we havent done much of anything.

feely is a downgrade cause is 1 year older..he was mediocre last year and this year will be worse..i wish we still have hightower in the squad so he can kick field goal from 40 yard more

Age means nothing

Adam V, one of the greatest kickers ever. There is no rhyme or reason to his stats. His percentages meander from year to year. All in all, however, most of his later year stats are more consistent than his early days.

Cardinals | Bringing back Brandon Keith not a priority
Sat, 24 Mar 2012 08:46:54 -0700

The Arizona Cardinals do not see re-signing free-agent OG Brandon Keith as a priority this offseason.

Cardinals | Adam Snyder could start at RG
Sat, 24 Mar 2012 08:44:19 -0700

Arizona Cardinals OG Adam Snyder probably will start at right guard this season but the team is not ruling out the possibility of starting him at another position.

The Cards probably had more new players last season than any team in the NFL. Just being on the team for a year will make them better. But it doesn't really matter if the QB play is the same as it was the first 7 games of last season.

Everything else is in place, with the addition of the draft picks and this looks like a really good class of college kids, to make the Cards a contender.

Don't count out the the Rams. With Jeff Fisher now the coach, they could well improve substantially. Harbaugh showed last year that he is an excellent coach. The verdict is still out on Carroll but we know what we have or don't have in Whiz.
