What would make you guys happy? "Oh Amareee....glad to see you're 120% of your former self" ....LOL

What am I supposed to be buying into??

Well, since he's reportedly improved on his jump shooting, it is possible that he'll be 120% when he regains all of his explosiveness for good, which will likely happen sometime this year.

Drop what?? I'm not calling names...they are

you're baiting people and you know it and if you don't, well, then you're too stupid to live.

kind of harsh? yes. but good lord man, you act like you're the only person with Amare concerns - EVERYONE HAS THEM - get over yourself.

funny that you'r ekind of quiet on the Jason Williams front these days also... good call there about him not getting a sniff from anyone.

I don't really know about "troll" here. If you ask me, he sounds a helluva lot like Mike D'Antoni. It's just that D'Antoni has the Suns "doctors" clouding his judgement a little bit, so he's not as decisive as pokerface.

Pokerface, you have stated your opinion on Amare. That's great. Everyone is well aware of it. Unfortunately you have continued to harp on it. That is trolling.

You don't have to think Amare will come back. You are certainly entitled to your own opinion. You just don't have to bludgeon people with it, especially when it is disrupting a lot of threads on the board.

Yes you can respond to that. Look, you are a smart guy and you know what is baiting and what isn't. I am really just trying to diffuse what is becoming hostility on the board and I am hoping you will meet me halfway.

I've only made some jokes about Amare. I say "when he's 200% maybe he can get 2 inches off the ground" and everyone goes ballistic. Sorry but uhh...I find the whole percentage thing rather rediculous at this point. Far too much has been percentage talk. When a player states they're 110% and approaching 120% I find that amusing considering only a week or two ago he was something like 70% and he missed a few practices.

OK Chris but it shouldnt be a free for all on me because some others disagree. Am I the only one being moderated on here?

I just hope the daily Amare health reports aren't a distraction for the rest of the team. We all know how Marion sulks when he doesn't get enough attention.

The Suns are a legit contender without Amare. Why doesn't anybody write a story about that.

because very few people actually believe that to be the case. The legit contenders going into the season are pretty much just the top three - Miami, SA and Dallas and then there's the maybes - us, Detroit and the Bulls.

we're a long shot without Amare - that's why people aren't writing stories about us being legit contenders without him.

They're contenders to make the playoffs but they can't beat San Antonio or Dallas in a 7 game series. For the Suns to win the Championship a slew of injuries is going to have to sweep the league like the parting of the Red Sea

But could a healthy KT have gotten us in the finals?

Absolutely not. I will be more diligent in curbing the insults. My apologies on that.

About a week back there was a thread discussing how the Suns would do if Amare didn't play at all. D'Antoni said he thought the team could win 55-60 games.

Since then the reports about how good KT and James Jones have looked when added to the new guys and this looks like a very good team. I'd rather focus on how they are doing than on comments of some sportswriter trying to create a story by claiming Amare's teammates are upset with him.

Be careful, Chris, pokerface is very slyly bringing up a single instance that was the result of his trolling and making himself look like a victim. IF he hadn't been trolling, then there would have been no need to call him a troll, right? That's just my opinion, of course...

That said, if you look at his recent history, you will see that 9 out of every 10 posts he writes is disparaging against Amare or trying to ridicule someone who has a little more positivity than he does.

It's absolutely all right to have an opinion, but it's quite another to use that opinion to be condescending to others. I think that's where the problems with pokerface lie.

Really the articles on Amare are getting pretty annoying.

If he sits out a practice it's the apocalypse and he will never heal, if doesn't sit out a practice it means he is pushing himself too hard and whatever.

Really you can't take those articles serious anymore, at least I am not paying any attention to it, I'll take Amare's own words over any of what Paul Coro or whoever writes.

Hey, slin, are you making it to Koln to see any of the games?

No, I was thinking about it but travel in the week 400-500km travel plus good tickets and hotel, I'd rather watch them in Phoenix than some stupid preseason game.

That is a possibility. It is also possible that he is just really a focused kind of person. Right now I just say lets move on and hope we can enjoy a great season.

Very true. The board tends to go crazy about any Amare news. He has a good day and we say "Champinship here we come!!!" Then a bad day, and "We are done!!!" We got pretty far last year with LESS than we should have, and this year we will have more players and a rested nash.

The suns are still a great team. Amare will add to them at some point. When he gets off the Microcoaster we'll put him in.

Without Amare Stoudemire it's all about the matchup. I don't think this team or even last year's team w/Kurt Thomas could beat San Antonio in a seven-game series. On the other hand I think it's entirely possible that they could have beaten Dallas last spring without Kurt Thomas had Bell not been injured.

In other words, I think this team minus Amare Stoudemire could get past any team but San Antonio in the playoffs. Even with Amare Stoudemire San Antonio is just a tough matchup for the Phoenix Suns.

That's just my $.02.

Amare just seems like the kind of young person who is very concerned about his ability to come back and is going through the normal ups and downs and expressing them without the filteration a more mature public figure would. I don't blame him, he is also really young still at 24, he'll get better at keeping the hopes of old fat white men up in due time.
I like this part. The second half is a wee bit overboard if there is such a discernment.
