I hadnt seen this on the boards yet, from the official site:

Coaching Search In Full Swing
Kate Brandt
azcardinals.com

The Cardinals front office has made the new head coaching search a top priority. The team has already scheduled three separate interviews over the next few days.

Cardinals’ executives are scheduled to meet with Ron Rivera (Bears’ defensive coordinator) in Chicago on Wednesday. They will travel back to the Valley to meet with Mike Sherman (Texans’ assistant head coach/offense) on Thursday and conclude the busy week Sunday in Indianapolis to interview Jim Caldwell (Colts’ assistant head coach/quarterbacks).

NFL rules are very strict relative to interviewing coaching candidates whose team is in the playoffs. A coach who is employed by a team with a bye during Wild Card Weekend must be interviewed prior the conclusion of the last Wild Card game. A candidate whose team is in a Wild Card game must be interviewed following their game but prior to a possible division playoff game the following weekend.

Continue to check azcardinals.com for more information in the coming days as the Cards continue their head coaching search.

Crossing my fingers for Jim Caldwell . . .

I'm not at all interested in Caldwell. His impact at Indy is minimal as Moore is running that offense. On top of that, Manning needs very little coaching. I initially didn't like the Sherman option, but I'm warming up to it. He seems to be meticulous in his preparation, which intrigues me. I like the OC from Pittsburgh. The guy who wows me is Charlie Weis, but the only job he would leave ND for is the Giants job.

Sweet. I hope it's between him and Rivera since it loks like we won't get Whisenhunt or Grimm.

Excellent!

...but, just like Rivera, I think a little less of him for thinking about his future while still coaching his current team.

I'd be pissed if I were a Chargers (or in the case of Rivera) a Bears fan.

I think the top 3 candidates are the top 3 guys they are meeting with...

Wed - Rivera
Thur - Sherman
Fri - Cameron

Can't really argue with any of these three but I think they go offensive.

I don't know. They get the week off. Hard to blame him for looking at HC jobs when otherwise he'd be playing Hot Shots Fore! or something.

If they were gameplanning, I could see this to an extent. But, they're not. So, what's the harm? The old way kept very good coaches from moving up. It's like they were punished for being successful.

Cameron would be my choice. Young and full of new ideas for an offense that is ready to blossom.

Why? Its a couple of hours of a single day when no game is scheduled this weekend. This is the best and possibly the only time he can interview. Him interviewing for a HC position is not taking away from his task at hand.

I've noticed that several people have mentioned "young" as a quality attribute to the new coach. Just wondering why since no coach can last more than 3 years here it seems

I am so frustrated with this team...Greens hiring had me cautiously optimistic (as opposed to McGinnis leaving me wondering WTF are they thinking?).

This time I don't care who it is. I want someone who will not be pushed around by the organization and won't be afraid to speak his mind and will be allowed to surround himself with superior coaching talent at coordinator/position coaches. Guys who other teams want, guys who we have to worry about every year interviewing for head coaching vacancies--innovative, smart, hard working, good teachers and above all committed to winning.

Defensive/Offensive/Young/Old --- I don't care! Just be the right choice.

Do you think Green was pushed around by this organization? Really?

I don't think Green cared to push around the organization this season. If reports are true he didn't want to sign James he wanted to spread the wealth more then it just shows that he didn't have as much power as we thought.

He to me looked like a guy who didn't care about 1/4 of the way in to this season. He didn't seem to want to push back, he took it and just waited for the season to end.

I want a coach who won't take it, won't be so easily defeated.

This one (jim bates) really intrigues me.

I think I could really jump on the Bates bandwagon...gets Pendy out of here more than likely and he's a damn good defensive coach.

Sherman hired Bates as DC in 2005...lets hire Sherman(HC) and Bates(DC)!

"Young" as in fresh ideas and they are not bringing back some offense that was successful 15 years ago.

No, let's hire Bates as HC and Sherman can stay in houston.

Bates did a great job in Miami, then fixed GB's D which, once he left, went to crap.
