I just don't think these guys buy into the Porter system at all. They are lost, confused, uninspired, fumbling around and just are a painful sight to watch. I think Porter is way over his head and does not have the right philosophy and game plan to best suit the talents of this team. How can you use Shaq as the main source of offense when you have Amare out there. Shaq was supposed to 'fit' into the Suns....not the Suns 'fit' around Shaq. I'm not sorry we have Shaq...but I just feel he should not be the 'go to' guy on offense.

Yep. They don't have any respect or belief in his coaching abilities. That's what it seems like to me. I'm starting to feel that way as well.

This loss is on Porter for not preparing us for anything. Is the adopting DA's letting the players play philosophy or what?! At least, DA had a coherent system that worked for regular sseason games!

Wow, what an embarassing loss...the Miami Heat at home and you get your ass kicked.

I just don't get this team sometimes, they all preach they need to develop 2 styles of play, a low grind it out half court style with Shaq and the ol uptempo without Shaq, but they can't even do that successfully. How hard is it to get the ball to Shaq when he is in the game? I am sorry, but they didn't lose this because of the absence of Nash, they lost this because they forgot how to play basketball...

I just hope this team finds their indentity and can get it going because they certainly have the talent...

The problem is that they are doing both styles half-heartedly, by nature they can only do so! You always have the excuse if played the other style more we'd have won!:bang:

True, it is just frustrating that they totally came out flat tonight, I bet they can be successful in each style if they truly tried and kept it at a style for a certain amount of time...

Who would you rather have at this point, Dragic or Chalmers? Kerr ranked Dragic as the second best point guard in the draft, behind Rose. Chalmers wasn't even on the Suns radar, so when he became available during the draft, the Suns were busy trying to figure out how to move up to "steal" Dragic.

Dragic is currently playing third string point behind another rookie. Played a total of six minutes in a game that Nash missed. 0-2, 0 points, 1 assist. Chalmers, starting for the Heat: 13 points (5-7), 3 3ptrs, 2 assists, 2 rebounds, 5 steals and a block.

The Suns paid a lot of money to get Dragic over here, money they could have been given to a veteran, and now we are stuck with two rookie point guards and are forced to again use Barbosa at the point.

He is.

I would put all of those people except Williams and Anthony ahead of Amare Stoudemire.

Amare's problem is he is lagging in behind regarding development of multi faceted skill set, due to the way Suns under DA played. No defense, no lowpost moves. But still, with a jumper as sweet as his, and strong and quick as he is, he should be unstoppable if given the chance to work on offensive sets that feature him. Offensively, he could be the best bigman in the pack.

Dragic is a work in progress. When its all said and done, I think he will be a solid point guard for this team when Nash is gone.

It's safe to say that the whole "trade Nash" discussion is over. He's not perfect, but at least he knows how to make a pass into the low post.

A sobering example of depending on LB and rookie PGs? Getting crushed by the heat, barfff! Where are the points in the paint with amare and shaq? Funny how when you remove one leg of the chair it falls. Blown out by small ball and a rookie coach. Did you notice how packed the lane was for the suns and how open it was for the heat?

Chalmers probably wasn't DA's kind of PG, compared to Dragic. And Miami at least play fundamentally sound basket ball with simple sets, which makes it a lot easier for the rookie as well.

I can't believe that people think Bosh is better than Amare. Amare is top 7 NBA when utilized. If I could build around a player right now, today, it would go....

1. LeBron
2. CP
3. Kobe
4. Wade
5. Amare

Close next is Howard, Anthony, Pierce, KG, Williams, Bosh

I'd like to see how long it would take for Colangelo to laugh and hang up on Kerr if Kerr offered Amare for Bosh. Not even close.

They just seemed out of sync tonight, could tonight's game be rare? Certainly I haven't seen them play THIS bad in this young season so far..

for all those laughing at the "trade Nash" calls, I've got news for you. If we DON'T trade Nash, we're staring at a 7 or 8 seed ass-kicking at the hands of the Lakers and staring at being even worse next year in which we don't even have our own pick, which means we have nothing to rebuild around.

Make no mistake, trading Nash isn't about getting better this year. With him, we're mediocre at best, which is pointless with this team right now. Might as well get as bad as possible this year so we can get a high lotto pick to make up for the one we will most certainly lose next year to the Thunder (good god the KT trade was just such an abomination... much like almost every other move Kerr has made during his tenure).

There you go blaming Shaq again. Dude, Suns were not able to even get the ball to the low post. Give it a rest- we get it, you hate Shaq, we all get it.

Is it possible to do less to help Amare score the basketball?

And please don't say that "Shaq clogs the lane." He opens it up for Amare Stoudemire. That's why Amare was one of the best players in the league since the Shaq trade last season.

Huh! shaq hangs in the lane with his man and yet opens it up! You have reached a new high in basketball strategy. You have missed your calling!

ok i'm not game savvy and this is an honest question
If amare is as good as he is, how come he doesn't come through for us when we obviously need him? What I see is that when the presssure is on, he can't seem to pass out of the double team and he forces it too much. He also gets easily frustrated if things don't go his way early in the game. He doesn't seem to have the steady temperament of a franchise player.

watching this team all season is just going to be beyond painful. struggle to beat the bad teams while losing to a couple of them and getting our asses handed to us by any team with pulse on the way to a first round ass-kicking, while knowing that we'll be even worse next season, when we don't have our first round likely lotto pick.

yuck von yuckenstein!

I am curious as to the excuses being made tonight in the locker room...I hope there is suns.com footage of that.

It wasn't all D'antoni fault.....his defense, low post moves, and rebounding were below average to average under Frank Johnson.

Amare has all the tools to be a offensive juggernaut, but has he put the effort during the offseasons to get better? Dwight Howard and Andrew Bynum have.

Simple. Wade was hot and Nash was out.

Suns need to regroup or be embarassed as a group. When they get frustrated they tend to go one on one too much. (cough Barbosa cough) But I don't think they are running an effective offense. Much like D'antoni did failing to use Shaq's strengths last year they are playing to them at the expense of their own strengths. There is a balance and they will find it or suffer humiliating defeats.
