Hi All,

3 males from Australia

We are off to Vegas from the 7th of September and i see that the Arizona Cardinals are playing at home on the Monday night 9th. We are in our late 30s and love a beer and a gamble.

We would like to know a couple of things if thats ok as we have never been to a NFL game before but would love to go see the Cardinals play.

1. Whats the best airline or site to book a return flight from Vegas to Phoenix. Are they quoted in USD
2. How far from the airport is the stadium?
3. Whats a decent seat and whats the best way to buy tix, do we buy before we travel or can you just turn up?
4. Any other tips for us to do on that day near the stadium before the game as i believe its on at 10.20pm?
5. How long does the game go for?.
6. Any other info for a newbie would be much appreciated
7.We want to spend a day in phoenix....What can we do?

Thankyou in advance

Good luck in your travels...Let me see if I can answer a few of your questions:

1) Southwest Airlines is probably your best bet, traveling to and from Vegas to Phx...Just use their direct website...and yes, it would be USD.
2) Should be about a 30-40 minute drive from airport to stadium, depending on traffic and what time your flight arrives, as you may encounter rush hour traffic.
3) All of the seats are pretty good inside...all depends on your budget...You can use Stubhub.com to purchase....or someone on this board may have extra tix available.
4) Their are plenty of bars and restaraunts located right across from the stadium...The local kickoff time is actually 7:20pm, not 10:20...that's the Eastern Time Zone you are reading.
5) The game will last about 3 hours, give or take a few minutes.
6) Be prepared to have a good time....bring extra $$ if you want to buy a hat, shirt or jersey...all things can be purchased at the game.
7) You can do a lot in Phx...golf, hike, bars, etc...whatever your pleasure, their is plenty to do...I grew up there, but moved to Cali several years ago, so I'm sure others on here may have more of an idea of any new local hot spots for you.

Enjoy your trip...It should be a great 1st American Football experience for you!

1. Southwest. www.iflyswa.com. No reserved seats but they almost never have delays.

2. 20 miles. Or whatever that is in km I don't know. Go to maps.google.com and click on get directions from Phoenix Sky Harbor to University of Phoenix Stadium.

3. No, the Cards are sold out. You can ask someone here or go to stubhub.com. Tons of scalpers.

4. No idea. We have plenty of west-siders on here that I'm sure can suggest something.

5. Game is about 3 1/2 hours. But budget about 5 hours for parking and walking to/from.

6. Don't be an obnoxious drunk. S.A.F.E. will kick you out and you wont get a ticket refund.

7. See #4.

Good luck!

So when i go to the NFL site to buy tix from the exchange how do you know if you are getting 3 seats together?
Does anyone ever get ripped off from buying them on that site

No, go to stubhub.com. They list the seat secton/row/aisle and give you a preview of the expected view.

It has become somewhat of a tradition for our crew to host out of country guests at our tailgate. So if you guys need a ride and want free beer & food you've come to the right place. We get to the game 5 hours before kickoff & wait for the gates to open so if that sounds like something you care to join us for you're invited.

There are hotels right across the street from the stadium (nice facilities too) that you could get a room at, and walk to the game.

I would recommend that, made my trip out to AZ great, best vacation ever.

What a great story. I'm glad those guys are Cardinals fans.

Well....the reporter somewhat embellished that statement, they basically just wanted to see an NFL game. They are Cardinal fans now though.

Andy, you handsome devil, you have made the big time. Quite a step up from the white trash you claim to be.... lmao.

Where's Diane? She's really the good looking one.

Too bad the Mrs and I couldn't be there for this one. At least we did get to meet the Brazilian Axe murderer last year though.

Thanx again Andy from the 3 of us.

We had an absolute cracking time and Andy and his wife and co were excellent hosts. We have told everyone back home how we were treated and that the tailgate and the atmosphere inside the stadium was awesome, the best part of the trip by far and we spent 14 days in USA

We will be back and the Cardinals are going super. Bring on the Superbowl

Amazing... we had 4 fans from Australia sitting behind us for that Chargers/Cardinals game. They had also come in from Las Vegas, and I figured it was the same guys. Watching the story, it wasn't. Two of the guys behind us at that game were wearing Chargers gear and 2 Cardinals gear (I think they chose randomly)... but really small world.
