Somers article

Leinart apologizes per Somers.

Says it was a misunderstanding with media relations.

Some of the internet replies are not buying it, but I give Matt the benefit of the doubt. He did not have a terrible performance and if anyone else followed training camp he gave pressers almost every day and was signing autographs after practice.

Yep, weak excuse, but I don't care much. Dunce, idiot, fool, whatever, its still not as bad as turning the ball over. Hopefully it is just an indication that he wasn't paying attention to his off-field responsibilities. That's not a good thing, but it isn't catastrophic either. One month from now I'm pretty sure I won't care whether or not he talked to reporters after the Texan's game.

Ill give him the benefit of the doubt. Simple error. No one will remember this come mid season. All apart of taking the reigns of the starter.

Of course you will. That is not a simple error. He knew what he was doing. He is #1 of an NFL franchise. The first thing you do post game is go to the podium.

Your right it wont mean anything next week much less week 5. But he needs to handle things better.

You can bet your bottom dollar his head coach will ensure that he understands his duties, and that he will be there the next game!

No doubt on the bold.

Stupid move by Leinart whether intentional or not. He shows up for the press conference and he is left alone more than by missing it.

I had problems with my audio on the internet feed for awhile I had double audio with a slight delay so I heard everything twice. But I thought the announcers somewhat early in the game said Matt had an upset stomach? I could be wrong but if so maybe he didn't hang around because he was otherwise occupied in the bathroom?

Why? Because Bickley said so? I'm sorry but he's always been down on Matt and has been predicting his failure all offseason before he's played a down.

I think it's laugable that he blames the first sack on Leinart because he "froze in the pocket" Williams blasted Keith and was on him in less than 2 seconds.

Here's the unbiased, truthful evaluation of Matts game yesterday: He started shaky and finished strong in a forgettable performance that left us no more sure or unsure of how good he's going to play.

Unless your a pro Leinart and you say he was GREAT or you're anti Leinart and you say he was WOEFUL.

When he stops wearing his hat backwards, I'll start thinking he is serious about football.

What is up with the hat-hate? This is like the 2nd post in a couple of weeks complaining about backward hats.

These guys are not interviewing with Goldman-Sachs for an investment banker job. They got done playing a tough, physical game.
