I think Wilks knows this. But seem to not execute it when game is on the line. One reason is Wilks may be pressing too much to get that first win. I think Bidwill needs to go to him and say just R-E-L-A-X.

I don't know. I think that at this point someone's a finished product. Wilks has been a coach for a long time at this point. There's been very little evidence that he's interested in or capable of changing direction and evolving w/r/t his schemes or decision-making.

You didn't like cheering on Palmer and Warner? What do you mean by that? You wish they weren't Cards QBs?

No, not that. Like, I didn't think either of those guys were fun QBs. I thought that even as a Ram Warner was overpraised because of the narrative he carried with him. Marshall Faulk was the engine for that GSoT offense, and he should've had an MVP award.

Warner with the Cards was gutty, but he was always the dad on that team.

Carson Palmer came here as damaged goods, he wasn't an electric leader here, and he always felt like a hired gun. Palmer came into the league so physically gifted that it was difficult to understand why he wasn't better. Something similar is going on with Matt Stafford. I'd love to have a quarterback with Stafford's physical profile, but something about him between the ears just makes me think that he's never leading the Lions anywhere.

That was embarrassing. It's gonna be a tough day in the film room for Antoine .

Amen I said the same thing yesterday. It’s a curse!
Dawson is one of the best 10 kickers in league history & has choked repeatedly in Cardinals red

That is on him man...mentally weak.

There is no goat curse...no chupacabra...no luck of the irish.

He missed the FG's not the Cardinals uniform.

One of the easiest damn stadiums to kick in on top of it!

Goats -

- Dropsy by WR's

- OL pass blocking early in game

- The right side of our LB crew got repeatedly caved on runs to the right and got outrun to the perimter on plays wide.

- Dawson

- After Dawson's miss with a bit less than 2:00 to play, nwe couldn't stop Seattle from effortlessly into FG position.

I remember that. Warner was an effing warrior man.

I still say Warner was one of the toughest to ever play football (not just QB). He would watch the rush come at him and throw a perfect pass ... and be instantly annihilated ... then just get up and do it again...I certainly hope we protect Rosen a lot better than we protected Warner, but I saw that same thintg a couple times yesterday.... we are headed to a good place...

I'd like to add MC64 to the hero list. Just seeing him motor down the field on the screen pass made me LOL.

How can You not habe McCoy and Wilks as a goat. They may be the GOAT in worst coaching combinations in history. That game and in fact last weeks game could have been won by a 4th grader using Madden. Why didnt he learn last week that if the OL cant contain for 2 yards ....they definately aint getting 6. Rosen needs to learn right there!!! That coukd have been a beautiful confidence boost plus it tells the QB we got your back. We were 0-3!!! Why not throw the ball. I guarantee you the fans would have supported it. If Dawson misses we would have said its not on the coaches or Rosen. That is a wuss move by a coach . He really should be fired ....he has lost fans and im sure players.

You know what? I agree with you. His toughness is a really, really under-rated aspect of Warner's NFL career.

But back back to heroes and goats. These threads are always interesting.

I think that's a given, so we've moved on to other heroes/goats.

Also, JR3 is a goat if the thinks Bobby Wagner would help him up.

Why I blame McCoy more than Dawson for the loss is that even if Dawson had made the FG, Wilson had more than enough time to take the game to OT.

Well, everything changes if he makes the kick. Mainly field position. That might have made a big difference, or not.

Coaching staff has to be goats for calling 3 straight run plays to end the game. Can't coach scared

I was actually fine with that, Finito. Phil Dawson had told them where he was comfortable kicking from, and they have arguable the best runningback in the game. Also, I would understand if they didn’t want to put it on the rookie to deliver bigtime in that situation. I would have called something else, but again, I won’t fault the coaches for doing it the way they did.

Now, how they conducted Seattle’s last drive was mindboggling to me.
